Shooting at San Diego Synagogue

"Deputies investigate reports of a man with a gun. Please stay clear of the area and allow deputies to safely do their job. Thank you for your patience and cooperation," said the tweet.

10News learned there are multiple patients and at least four victims have been transported.

The synagogue was hosting its Passover Holiday Celebration which was scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., according to an event announcement. The celebration was to end at 7 p.m. with a final Passover meal.

This is terrible news lets hope for the best. This is just breaking and there are conflicting reports. Some sources claim they are still searching for a shooter.

First of all, thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families.

RIP

The gun grabbers will use this as a call to further disarm Americans and specifically those in Kalifornia.

But it really should serve as a wake up call to anyone who values the safety of themselves and their loved ones.

Embrace the Second Amendment, get trained and arm yourselves.

Unfortunately, in this day and age, nothing is as it seems. Will be curious to learn more over the coming days and weeks.

Tragic news that a gunman has attacked Chabad of Poway synagogue, on this, the last day of Passover, a day that is supposed to be a celebration of faith and freedom. I am thinking of, and praying for, those hurt and affected.

Synagogues should be off limits, I've never seen them storing or using weapons that kill innocents. I would agree with that statement for most religions. However, when terrorists are involved, it makes the job a lot easier :-) Efficiency and expediency can be a wonderful thing when it comes to putting down groups of terrorists in one place that pretend to have religious affiliations.

This comes as no surprise for two reasons. The first being the current trend of attacking religious institutions. The current coverage on the news etc..which incites people to do the same.

The second reason is in regards to a lot of rhetoric I read online. Mostly from people who are concerned about possible violent attacks against Jewish people. When people are sharing their concerns, its important to listen.

Hateful and unstable people out there. That unfortunately will never change.

I wonder what the weapon was, and more importantly, the magazine capacity used.

NBC reporting 1 dead and the Rabbi was shot in the hand among other injuries. Members of the congregation, including one with a gun stopped him.

Yup. All 320+ million of them. Down to the last soul. As a group, they can't wait for a new synagogue to go up in their town so they can shoot it up. The evidence is clear as there are no synagogues in the US. No sense in even building them.

...except for those 3700+ ones.

The suspect they have in custody, his name is John T. Earnest. Really?

He has been identified by NBC News as John T. Earnest.

ETA: They're now saying that he turned himself in, called 911 on himself. I guess he's living up to his name. John the Earnest.
