The Liberal Democrats are Campaigning under the slogan " Stop Brexit "
They advocate this by calling for a " Peoples Vote " If such a vote was given, and the result was again to leave The EU, how do the Liberal Democrats think they can actually stop Brexit ?
Do they call for yet another vote until they achieve what their slogan says?
www.bbc.co.uk...
Do Liberal Democrats only believe in democracy if the vote goes their way? We had a " peoples vote " in 2016 when the result was to leave The EU.
I am genuinely struggling to understand what is going on here.

You had a vote.
You don't get a "re-do" just because you don't like the results.

Just leave already!

Most Poms didnt vote correctly last time so instead of tptb just saying 'f**k you all were staying in the EU" they will drag it out, try to scare everyone and just generally make it seem more trouble than its worth.
Eventually they will call another vote and give all the plebs another opportunity to vote 'correctly'
Im simplifying a tad but this is the general gist of it

I think you might be slightly confused about how democracy works.

There slogan " Stop Brexit " advocates what the result of a " peoples vote " would be, even before a " peoples vote " would have even been called or the result know if a vote did happen.
So again i ask the question, how do the Liberal Democrats intend to " Stop Brexit " ? Do they use a Crystal Ball ?
Confused from Stratford-upon-Avon.

I believe you're the one that's confused. IF there was a second vote it should be after the first vote is honored. In America we Elected President Trump, many in the media and elite didn't believe America voted correctly. Should they have held another vote before he was sworn in? Of course not. The vote is honored, he becomes President and if we don't' like it, we vote again in 2020 to re elect him or someone else.
So the UK voted to Exit the European Union, they should honor that vote and exit. They can have a revote AFTER the first vote is honored. THAT"S how democracy works, you don't keep re-voting hoping to change the results before honoring the results of the first vote.

They want to stop brexit.
Why ? Do they not respect democracy ? The will of the people. Or only when it goes the way THEY want it to.
And you ask me why i am confused.

If the majority people want to stay now do you think we should still leave?

When the majority voted in 2016 to leave, do you think we should now stay ?
