Speaking of not surprised, censorial anti-Trump ATSers applauding the arrest of someone because someone else sent an anonymous online tip to the FBI alleging he said something bad.

No. Applauding the arrest of a domestic terrorist who is kidnapping brown people at gunpoint to forcibly deport them. And running a radical far right militia that was planning to assassinate members of an opposing political party.

Friendly reminder that our government "for the people" has at least one operative in every single civilian militia. Kind of like the Bundy situation. Oh how short our memories are... ohh and Clive Bundy? All charges dropped with prejudice.
The news about the 2016 stand off hit the presses, and were roundly jeered in media. But the earlier stand off from 2014 was brushed under the rug because again, papa government did a no-no.

www.npr.org...

What is that? There was an infiltration of FBI agents as well?
www.oregonlive.com...

But the FBI was working to build a case against the Bundys. Shortly after the Nevada standoff, agents posing as documentary filmmakers with "Longbow Productions" made contact with the family. In "American Patriot," we hear Ammon Bundy on the phone with "Charles Johnson," a supposed filmmaker.

If he is indeed a terrorist I'm glad he got arrested. I think a few questions that should be asked is... What is the cause for him being a terrorist and wanting to kill these people? Could it be that this group was sick of watching these political muppets flush this country down the drain and their patriotism got the best of them?

What is it with the "brown people" identity politics parroting?
I don't think you can blame people for taking action into their own hands to stop illegals pouring into this country. Our gov is doing very little about it, especially on the left, who is handing out open invitations and making it as easy on them as they can at the cost of US citizens.

These people are bringing diseases into the country, taking jobs, overcrowding and straining our educational system, abusing and bankrupting our welfare system, costing taxpayers billions, killing citizens, many are gang affiliated, compounding our homeless problems, etc.......people are fed up with their BS.

Is it really a big surprise to you that citizens are getting pissed off about this and want them deported?

I think the ones crying asylum should be sent to the projects in Harlem, the Bronx, South Side Chicago, South Central La, Watts and see just how good some are living here in the US. I can almost guarantee they'd be crying to get back home.

We can't even fix our own problems, why allow even more people to compound those issues? If we fix our problems then maybe we can talk about saving the rest of the world.

Again, the accusation that he was planning assassinations was a piece of hearsay dropped on an online FBI tip-line, which you readily believed without evidence.

No the FBI was investigating him for years. They don’t arrest on hearsay.

The why is simple. Right wing media is radicalizing people. Even your post is riddled with misinformation on it. Illegal immigration has been declining for a decade and even if it weren’t kidnapping random people at gunpoint for looking illegal isn’t a solution and shouldn’t be tolerated.

Are you talking about the Hutaree back in 2010?

The FBI actually informed both the Michigan Militia and the Ohio Unorganized Militia that they were hitting the Hutaree so they didn’t freak out. The FBI neglected to inform the Indiana Militia and they sent observers to find out what was going on and was then informed.

The problem is that Michigan, Ohio and Indiana all have mutual aid agreements and the FBI could have subjected themselves to around 50,000 jacked up militiamen acting only on the premise that the FBI was raiding and arresting militia members. That could have made for a very bad day, since Indiana was on standby and the scouts had two hours to report before automatic full deployment was called.

Also on that day, a nut job small group in Ohio was hit that had maybe 3-5 people affiliated, but they only took the leader and one other guy. Never heard anything about them after that.

Not all militias are scary. Many are very beneficial volunteers that offer to respond to natural disasters and provide training for law enforcement as well. By definition, every police department is a paramilitary organization. So is the SCA which is a medieval reenactment group.

Someone sent an online tip to the FBI. It is an allegation based on hearsay. To pretend he actually said that, to believe the mere accusation that he was plotting to assassinate politicians with no other evidence, is to purchase snake oil and start drinking it.
Well said.

They didn’t arrest him because of the hearsay. It merely was added as a part of the probable cause statement.

Dose the justice system only work in one direction. Not that I condone threats or attempts at a sitting or past president. What about the ones holding up severed heads or threats to the current POTUS. Or is it pick and choose.

It's not much to really applaud since that guy was far too stupid to ever accomplish any of that. Probably why the discredited FBI chose him since a very easy catch, (he practically handed himself over to them), then make a mountain out of it with MSM assistance to help their nasty current public image. The same ones at CNN with direct FBI phone numbers for receiving past illegal leaks of classified intel to fuel their anti Trump campaign.

So you're saying we should bring back the task force Trump disbanded that is focused on dealing with domestic terrorism? That way we can catch the smart ones too, not just the really obvious ones?

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that Trump has on multiple occasions called for their assassinations. Even just recently he called the Mueller report a coup and said that they needed to be punished like it was a mutiny. Leading several on ATS to start calling for mass arrests, indefinite detention, and in some cases executions of any Democrat in office.
