And what Agenda would that be? if you look at my post history you will see the only agenda I have is calling out the BS on both the left and on the right. This tax cut was BS IMO and I didn't see significant difference last year or this year .

I certainly wouldn't call this tax cut a win nor anything worth praising about.

I personally want less taxes and this wasn't it for me.

He stuck it to me like Obama. I'm paying about the same.

Sorry but I will just state it. I paid 3k less in tax this year and fit the middle class bracket with married with multiple kids. I will also be getting a larger refund but will still pay about 7k in taxes. Oh well. It is my contribution. Do I like it, no, but it is what it is. Who is getting less?

1. People who lied about deductions
2. Single parents with multiple kids. If you make less than 400 a week you paid nothing in taxes therefore you get nothing back. Gone are the days of welfare refunds.
3. People who lied about deductions.

A return is just that. A small amount paid back of what you paid in. I hate hearing about part time workers with 4 kids who pay no taxes but with credits get 4-5k back.

Sorry but your withholdings, if you did not change your W-4, would be less.

There are withholdings and then a tax refund which is different.

Everyone's tax withholdings were lower...everyone. Are you saying you did not pay less in taxes?

How much did you pay in taxes both years comparatively?

I'm saying I paid about the same amount in total as last year as this year. irregardless of the withholdings.

I only hope that ATS gets part of the taxes I paid so they can fix that 25 - 35 minute on the hour performance bug. Is it me or is the window getting bigger?

Personally I see it as socialism vs corporate socialism. Both are seeking equity rather than equality.

Two sides try to abuse the system, those who do not want to work as hard, and those that want to make hard work taxed more than their spoils.

Maybe it's the libertarian tinge to me, equality is always better than equity.

I don't even like a flat tax (income tax) , I prefer a consumption tax. Pay for what you're using.

I would be open to the consumption tax but enough with BS tax system we got that has 81K pages of loopholes and deductions which only ends up putting the burden on the middle class.

Tax cuts with budget increase is kicking the can down the road.

I'm not gonna have kids, yet I won't celebrate cuts with spending increases because I'm taking a loan on your kids people... It's really that easy.

I agree.
I think a lot of people agree our tax system is hot garbage.
With our current system of government the tax system will not change.
The money would have to be removed from politics first; until that happens, imo, not much will change.
There is money on both sides.
See the feature film "The Distinguished Gentleman", it was on point about this problem.

I don't know if I will save any taxes this year. I filed an extension because I have a trillon items to go through yet.

But I bet it won't offset the 20k dollar hike in metal cost I saw.

Watch and see if the cost of goods is higher than the 100-200 a month savings people are bragging about.

I bet the gov is making more...Cash off the front in tarriffs, cash off the middle in income tax and cash off the end in sales tax, while the corps pass along the cost at the same time to keep up their jet-yacht-mansion-islands.

So scrolling through the thread I find that there are those who report that it helped them a bit and those who claim it hurt them, and those who say it made no difference to them, one thing is clear. While us ''little guys'' are divided on the issue, all those ''big guys'' are whooping it up for the untold millions it will put in their bank accounts.

The cut was realized in less withholding from your actual paycheck. We made more each month instead of getting more back after filing.

I compared it to what I paid overall last year to what I'm paying overall this year irregardless of the withholding.
withholdings is just playing with numbers .

Go back to school for a refresher.
Seems as if you missed some valuable math lessons there.
