I'm not at all surprised about your friends experience, it's what I believe him to be from what I"ve seen. He's intelligent, but I think most of all what helps with the business/trolling is he has a social engineering ability with people. That's something very difficult to just learn.

Trump is smart. You don't build a multi-billion dollar real estate empire being an idiot. Trump is an entrepreneur. Even though he started off wealthy, he does have somewhat of a blue collar streak in him. I think that is what makes him successful. In fact, many real estate developers have this knack. You have to know how to deal with the labor on job sites. Real estate isn't "high finance" like on Wall Street where you do deals over lunches. You actually have to build sh*t when you are developer and get your hands dirty.

Many entrepreneurs I've met in my life are straight shooters, no BS types. They are very intelligent, but they are very blunt in how they communicate. They don't have time for a lot of BS, nuance, and political posturing. They just want sh*t done. Trump comes off like that to me.

Trump isn't a political policy wonk.

He comes off as trolling the political establishment because he isn't playing their games where they trade underhanded insults or try to manipulate each other politically. If Trump doesn't like what you are doing, he says so and then calls you an azzhole... on twitter. The establishment isn't used to dealing with someone who doesn't play their game of thrones type shenanigans.

This is absolutely true. I shared a story during the election about a contractor friend who bid on construction work when Trump was developing Trump National Golf Course here in L.A. about ten years ago. He submitted his bid and was asked to come in for a meeting. When he arrived he was sent into a room and there behind the desk was Trump. They shook hands and Trump explained to him that he really wanted to use local labor on the project, but the budget had some hard limits they they couldn't go over. He said times were tough all over and if my friend could re-evaluate his bid he could guarantee his crew steady work for the next six months. Well my friend took a hard look at his numbers and was able to trim them a bit and he landed the contract. Sure he made a bit less profit but it was good steady work in a really crappy time for construction. Oh, and he was paid in full and on time contrary to all the "he's a swindler!" stories.
My friend came away from that experience with nothing but respect for the man, he's a "hands on" boss who's tough but fair.

Why isn't Cher living in Mexico already?
Just because Canada would not take her does not mean she should not have gone to Mexico.

I agree with Trump - dump the illegals into the sanctuary cities where they are wanted by the politicians.
But I also agree with her - I do not want them in LA either.

The best thing to do is not to let them into our country in the first place.
