This is an extremely disturbing story. When a company like Comedy Central (owned by Viacom who also owns MTV, VH1, Spike, Nickelodeon, CMT, BET, etc) has the power to have american citizens detained upon entering the country because they were investigating a slanderous interview conducted by a Comedy Central personality (they later hacked together clips to create a fake interview), there is a major problem in this country. Comedy Central reported that they were in fear of the saftey of their staff by these journalists who they had slandered and were coming to get a response from Jim Jeffries (interviewer) about his actions. The journalists wouldn't have had to do this had Jeffries or Comedy Central returned any of the emails or phone calls asking to talk to them about the episode they aired.

I'm sure this won't get picked up by the MSM but it is important for people to know who is calling the shots and how much reach some of these corporations have.

On another note, we (conservatives, right leaning & libertarians) need to start a list of all the hack jobs that these media companies do when they interview people. If anyone ever is interviewed by these organisations they must demand they be allowed to also film the interview (and have them sign a rights release so it can be posted/distributed) so that can be posted and compared to what is broadcast. A list of media hacks should be created for both leftist & right wing media outlets and allow the public to see the full interviews and compare them at their discretion. When sanity returns to government we can then see the offenders who worked so hard to undermine this country and slander good people and take the appropriate legal actions against the "journalists" and their employers.

Here are channels or companies owned by Viacom to see just how far their reach might be.

Comedy Central reported that they were in fear of the saftey of their staff

This right here

Everyone seems to be using that excuse to cause harm on other people, it seems to me like the ones that should be in fear are those journalists, the world is turned upside down

This thread may be pointing out something critically important these days, but it will probably get drowned in side tracking comments until the entire issue is forgotten and everyone moves over

True, but equally other people would get a pass, well actually modern versions of Slobodan? They do get a pass day by day

That is exactly what I made this thread, because of the sentence you quoted. I'm not reporting this b/c it was Comedy Central, I'd do the same if it was Fox. The only way I wouldn't think this would be an issue is if the person had a history of violence or made threats against the physical safety of the employees.

If a company can bar a person from entering the country simply by reporting them to the CBP or FBI, then why couldn't a software or IT company do the same and bar scientists from entering the country to attend a conference (like Def Con) where they might be releasing insider leaks about illegal activities of a tech company. Or a scientist/medical/research doctor attending a conference to discuss their findings about how harmful a new drug is, or some GMO, or whatever a company wants to protect.

This could be abused in so many ways and it seems there wasn't much proof needed (though that can't be determined ATM) for this person to be banned from entry.

1 correction to your OP, I believe they are Aussies not Americans.

Other than that I agree with what you’re saying, this is pretty disgusting.
On a positive note everyone now hates Jim ajeffries

Correction to your correction: Sydney Watson has dual citizenship. She's Aussie and American. She entered on her American passport.

The other guy is Aussie and I believe Israeli. He was the focus and the one deported.

2 things

If you report an illegal alien, who is a criminal, do you think that call would have followed with an arrest.

Two, i honestly hope Comedy Central is scared. Fear seems to be the only thing that brings the left back to reality.

They need to find out who @ the top gave permission to detain Avi and go down the line from there and fire every damn one of them involved in deporting him! That OR they better have a damn good reason for doing so and let us know that reason. I have a gut Avi might be some type of agent provocateur, however I have yet to see him promote violence.

How is it the party of open borders and it's Corporate backers or The Corporatocracy, get away with deporting someone in the United States of America because they don't like what someone has to say? If this is the case folks, are we any better or different than Australia? The EU? Where they are already banning certain people from coming in due to their ideas? It seems if you hate the United States a certain faction of people are wanting the gates wide open for you to come on in, yet an individual from another country whom actually aligns with our values such as freedom of speech want to come in for a visit get detained and sent packing?

We are in a coup/civil war folks. Might not be the blood shed one would think about during a war, but how in the name of sanity when we claim to be so free as a nation cam things like this happen?

Just might get a hold of my Congress Critter on this one and ask how the hell something like this can happen.

In 1998 I was deployed to Operation Southern Watch which, along with Operation Northern Watch, essentially cut off Sadaam's top and bottom 1/3rd of this country from military air operations.

Upon arriving in Saudi Arabia, at then Prince Sultan Air Base, I was forced to go through customs as all others were. We were explicitly told not to bring along any magazines (adult) or movies (even r-rated movies) as this could get us in trouble at customs.

My roommate back at Langley, the wonderful guy he was, was also deployed with me for this TDY. But instead of being a man and taking the chance by himself, he instead decided to smuggle in several popular movies on VHS as he was going to be working EOR most of the deployment and if you know EOR, there is a lot of Jerry Springer time. The movies were Pulp Fiction and two others that I can't remember.

Anyways, as you can guess, he used MY luggage to smuggle in the tapes! I was immediately detained at customs, which was nothing more than a bunch of wooden tables laid out for our flight with as many as twenty Saudi guards rummaging through our things. They obviously found the tapes and I was asked (led) to sit inside a trailer marked aside for "special investigations". I was 19 years old and scared, but my flight leader gave me the nod and I went with the guards to the trailer some 100 yards away.

Two guards escorted me to the trailer, and rounded up two more to join them in the trailer just steps before the trailer door. I was #ting my pants at this point, now at gunpoint from the two new armed guards. I climbed the small three-step staircase to the special investigations trailer and all four guards followed me inside. Therein was worn, unfinished desk and some sort of higher officer sitting behind it. The four guards, speaking in some form of arabic, then explained to the official what they found. I knew there was no use trying to defend myself and tried to stay quiet.

Inside the trailer was a television from about 1980 with a much more modern VCR player attached. I was then forced to sit in silence and shame at gunpoint while the official watched Pulp Fiction, fast-forwarding here and there and calling out certain scenes to his guards in which they were acting very concerned about.

If you are not familiar with this movie, there is a scene in which a gimp-suit wearing slave and a homosexual encounter occur. I was hoping the official would fast-forward through this section of the film but they landed right on it. Although I was only 19, I knew homosexuality was rampant in Saudi Arabia, yet extremely taboo and religiously not tolerated. I was sweating bullets. They had complete control over me and if they decided to take me away they would've been completely within their rights. If I got out of this unharmed my roommate was a dead man.

So there I sat, in a remote Saudi Arabian customs special investigation trailer, being shamed by four guards, some of them armed and pointing their rifles at me, shouting and pointing at the screen during this homoerotic depiction. If you don't know the movie well I will spoil the scene for you here: Basically, Bruce Willis is going to be raped by two very sick men who keep a sexslavegimp. He's able to escape and then eventually comes back to slice them up with a katana blade. This was very cool stuff to a 19 year-old.

But sitting in that sweaty, 110 degree trailer, with almost an hour past and my flight being well-processed through customs, I was sure I was in some sort of trouble.

But then, just as Bruce Willis slayed the two men the official stopped the tape and nodded to his guards and I was returned to my flight, just moments from leaving the site without me.

I won't name his name because that would expose too much, but let's just say that Mr. Roommate was promptly handled that evening.

The point?

I think I could handle being detained by Comedy Central.

So, comedy central mocks people then if these people come to visit the country, they have them investigated because they fear these tourists might go after their reporters. I think this is an abuse of our justice system, did they provide any evidence to the FBI that was legit that was real? The people who called in and provided the fake evidence should be prosecuted.

People who are slandering others use our laws inappropriately to protect themselves. We are eventually going to make it so nobody wants to step foot in this country except for poor immigrants and refugees. The left is trying to drive the people with all the money away too, if these rich that own ninety percent of our money leave, what the hell are the rest of us going to live off as they take their businesses with them. We need jobs for our people. All of the rich are not our enemies, only a quarter of them are bad for our society.

Then Comedy Central should hire armed security or encourage their employees to carry at work (the responsible thing to do)

Instead, these gutless cowards would rather infringe on the free speech of others and cower behind others

Sad because I enjoyed a few shows Comedy Central has on. Won't be watching those any more

edit: Fox and others should have these people on video conference so their message still gets out unfettered. If anything, they could use this to bring attention to their questions and shine light on how far C.C. has gone to prevent their staff from answering tough questions

They want everybody to be "equal" Don't you know? Equally poor. Equally bad off. and Equally dumped on

Too bad for them their campaign dollars are so dismal

Our side is already ahead of the top 2 dem contenders combined

Can't wait to see their divisive primary drive so many of them over to our side again
