Man, that sucks. My advise is to lose em' like their bad habit, or until they make noticable lifestyle changes.
I was kinda hoping it was a one time thing.
These type of people are bad news.
Cut your losses, is my advise.
It's pure chaos, better to play it safe and get out of the way for now.
Good luck buddy, that sucks.

look up women's shelters in your area.
look up crisis hotlines for your area.
look up therapists who specialize in domestic issues.

give the information to the wife.

then keep your distance until they get their lives in order.

most people who are in a violent relationship seek those relationships out. it's rare someone gets up and leaves something like this.

keep this awfulness out of your home.

just my 2cents.

Agreed.

The woman, ironically, is a healthcare professional...works in a hospital.
She sees this behavior from the treatment end of things, daily.

I have no doubt she is aware of resources.

I totally get why you wouldn't want to have dinner with them. Personally, I don't hold grudges very well. Life is too short and everyone deserves a shot at redemption.

Still very fresh.

I'm willing to keep my distance for a while...wait and see how their counseling goes (if it happens)...and see if we receive positive reports from the wife.
Chances of a divorce between these two seem very high...and, frankly, as they've only been married a short time, I have felt they'd both be happier with others...or even nobody at all.

Life is, as you say, too short.
After many years of having dinners with people because I've HAD too...I'm choosing to spend my time enjoying the company of others...because I WANT to.

Have dinner with them, when you get the opportunity to have a 1 on 1 chat with this asshole, do so and let him know you are aware, and he hits his wife again next time you're out to dinner together you will be exercising your right to manhandle wife beaters and teach them a lesson they wont soon forget.

Strange take.
So because I don't want to go out with a wife abuser, I need counseling.

Glad I'm not living in YOUR world.

Not that strange at all and no offence but here you are and there is your question asking for counsel from peers

Anyway for me, go be with them, show your support and should the abused need support, she will trust you
Sit down, have a deep and meaningful with your wife about what you are thinking and why

I'm thunking, you shouldn't be sad if you never see either of them again.

Listen to the Witch.

She may be evil (and have nice shoes) but sometimes she might be right!

I always listen to the Witch.

I don't have a deathwish.
