You're absolutely right, the two are night and day comparatively. There's tens of thousands of AOC's currently being indoctrinated and manufactured by our educational system that are completely void of individuality. On the other hand, Candice is proof in the importance of being raised in a real world, with real problems and real solutions. I think it's very obvious that Owens morals and ethics came from a old school upbringing at home and not a text book taught from some wacked out narrow minded professor.

Well, I appreciate that. We're all on this ride called life and sometimes it's bumpy as hell. To discuss things in a civil manner, while finding ways that actually make this country better for everyone, will benefit us all.

I am willing to engage and debate with trump supporters. It is very difficult but I do try and see their side and try to explain my side. I think everyone should try and engage peacefully with and try to empathize with the other side of view.

I'm not a trump supporter nor a supporter of either the republican or democrat party.

Having said that , here are couple of my issues with the democrat party.

1. Why would the democrats want to give more power and money to a gov't that is riddled with conflict of interest?

2. Why do the democrats insist on making racism worse in this country by stereotyping and purposely reporting unbalanced cases on who are always the victims and villains.

By stereotyping the victims (minorities) and the villains (white males), they create an environment that nourishes hate, anger,violence , and intolerance to each other because nobody likes to be classified as a victim nor a villain. They do the same thing with sexism.

3. Why are the democrats so focused on the RIGHT and the GREAT ORANGE ONE rather then fixing their own party and list of worthless members of their party?

4. Why is the left so intolerant to differing in opinions and feel the need to be so vocal on expressing and forcing their opinions on everyone ?

I will address your points as you have them numbered.

1. I agree, anyone, no matter their political ideology, can be racist.

2. No one is pretending white nationalism doesn't exist. What Owens is saying is that it is massively overblown, and in my opinion she is correct. She brings up all sorts of tragic statistics in the black community, and points out none of them are caused by white nationalism. Yet the dems chose to focus a committee on white nationalism instead of these much bigger real problems.

Owens says and again I agree with her is that this is because the democrats seek to cause brown and black people to fear others. Its the same with black lives matter; they focus on the very small percentage of blacks shot by police, and ignore that the overwhelming amount of violence committed against black people is done by other black people. This drumming up of racial divisiveness and fear mongering is not helping the country it is hurting it.

Statistically, a black person is over 20 times more likely to commit violence against a white person than vice versa. How would the democrats feel if we had committees on black crime against other races? they would say that was driving racial divisiveness. Yet they jump at the chance to call out white violence because they know that helps them get minority votes.

3. No the right doesn't play identity politics as much as the left. The left has had presidential front runners just this year say we have to believe people or disbelieve them based on their genitalia. Show me any person of power on the republicans doing the same thing. And that's just with gender, this cultural Marxism is now the main platform of the left using gender, race, religion, sexuality, etc.

Yes some on the right play this game as well, and it should be condemned. But nowhere near the level the democrats play it.

4. I agree with you. This is a very nuanced topic that could use its own thread, but I do agree with you here.

5. Anyone saying white nationalists don't exist in America are wrong. I see almost no one saying that. I see people saying they are almost non existent, and are blown out of proportion for political reasons.

Why can I not star or flag this thread? Anyone else having the same problem?

Ironically I kind of agree with you in a way you don't mean.

I have often said that the wealthy white progressives that feel the need to treat brown people as oppressed victims that need coddling is because of their own knowledge that if we didn't treat black and brown people like children that need reparations or affirmative action or special treatment or excuses made for them; then those black people would show they are every but as capable as white people or any other race.

So many of the white progressives treat blacks like infants to be protected because they fear that if they don't, those blacks will prove to be stronger than them.

Denying racism or the danger of the rise of white nationalism does a lot more harm than good in this day and age when we thought we wouldn't be hearing about any or that sort of thing again. And the fact that black on black crime hasn't been completely eradicated is beside the point. It's not like we can only discuss one issue at a time. The empowerment of White Nationalism and the attempts being made to whitewash it are transparent as all getout.

The fact that those who have continued to be subjugated by the old white establishment are getting louder is really scary to a good bunch of Americans. Scary enough to lead to desperate posts like this. But perhaps she'll be the rights new Ben Carson. They certainly love their token black people and shine the spotlight to no end when they find them.

And lastly, you all know well that historically it's always been progressives vs conservatives when it came to civil rights. The Dems used to be the social conservatives at one time. But times are different and attempting to spin the Dems as the KKK-style racists today when those people jumped ship for the Repubs via the southern strategy many decades back is a pathetic & highly partisan lie of omission. Be better.

I can see that common sense is not all lost. But I got to say those in the crowd looked like they wanted the lady to stfu.
The truth hurts. Them in the audience were nothing more then kids not wanting a Mexican made Hersey candy bar.

I always said, politicians job is to: control, tax and limit the privileges given to the populace. There is no such thing as "rights" in America, well, maybe the right to breath, but what about the right to clean air and water. Something to think about.

I heard this on the radio this evening on my way home. The best part for me was when one of the leftist clowns tried to refer to her as "despicable" for bringing politics into the debate, nevermind the whole damn hearing was nothing but politics for the left.
