Stifled laughter from another room while I lie in bed alone.

My mind screams “Trust Her!” Then whispers “she’s with another.”

My heart is a frozen weight in my chest.

Wouldn't it be that much crueler of her if she did?

Meaning she REALLY didn't care for you if she knew that you knew but did it with you there anyway.

I don't think it matters. You seem to excel at writing stories. I know how intelligent you are, and to me it appears that you also know how to express that intelligence through stories. Very well thought out stories.
