The bright teardrop-shaped meteor fell at about 11:55pm EST and eyewitnesses reported a five to six second descent, followed by a bright flash that lit up the sky like a firework.
The National Weather Service in Tallahassee said the fireball was picked up by a weather device used to track lightning in thunderstorms. The agency said they were still working to determine where the meteor may have landed, though it’s possible that it broke up in the atmosphere prior to making impact.
I wonder why that would be?

Very interesting, even before the footage is slowed down it doesn’t look to be traveling very fast for a meteor. I wonder why that would be?
It's not clear whether the meteor hit Earth or burned up in space.
The National Weather Service said it heard unconfirmed reports that the meteor landed near Perry, Florida, some 55 miles southeast of Tallahassee.
If someone thinks they found pieces of the meteor, scientists would need to run tests to determine if it is in fact a space rock.

I saw that last night sitting on my porch! All the way up here in SC.
I just happen to look up when it happened. If I had not, I'd have missed it.
