The article says nothing about air force jets chasing this. Where are you getting your information that they did?

Thee article DOES say that this looks like jet contrails, which I agree with -- contrails that look grey under the lighting conditions, just like a white cloud could look grey depending om the lighting conditions.

Maybe it was the contrail of something that wasn't supposed to be seen.

Just an aircraft contrail and perspective fooling the person filming it. The same as this person who films an aircraft coming towards him. The contrails are dark because they are in shadow. It appears to be going up but in fact the aircraft is parallel and perspective is making it appear to be be going up.

You really think the images look similar to the video? The plane looks to be an odd shape and contrails don't spread out like that in the video. I guess the plane in the video is filmed smaller (higher altitude/less zoom) then the images you linked.

It's a contrail similar iamges have been on here before
