John McCain (R-Ariz.) by regurgitating an old, fabricated account of what caused a catastrophic fire aboard the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal in 1967. The naval disaster killed 134 sailors and injured 161—one of those survivors was McCain himself, who sustained minor injuries. The web sites, several of which also defamed McCain as having been “a ‘rat’ or ‘stoolie’” during his five-and-a-half years of captivity as a POW in North Vietnam, laid out details claiming McCain was “personally responsible” for the deadly conflagration on the deck of the Forrestal.

Seems there is some doubt though as you say, not had much time to check into it.
Either way, seems like a good topic thats someones probably already made on ATS!

If Trump is in charge of any investigation and there is some kind "conspiracy" to take him down, then whoever was in charge is safe.

And speaking of "acting up", Congressman Jerry Nadler not only claims that A.G. William Barr is covering up for President Trump, he's summoning Barr before his Judiciary Committee, to be drawn, quartered, and castrated.

House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler said Sunday the committee will call Attorney General William Barr to testify "in the near future."

"In light of the very concerning discrepancies and final decision making at the Justice Department following the Special Counsel report, where Mueller did not exonerate the President, we will be calling Attorney General Barr in to testify before the House Judiciary in the near future," the New York Democrat tweeted.

Trump has NOT been exonerated. He will have legal issues the rest of his tenure and even after...which will likely end in 2020 when he is voted out of office.

Did everyone just forget that the Mueller probe was started because Trump fired Comey for the “Russia thing”? That is why they went over everything again because at that point the deputy AG thought there was a case to be made that Trump was trying to obstruct the investigation based on Trump’s statements and actions.

Mueller was appointed to find out who colluded. President Trump was the assumed target. At least the Dems assumed that.
