I asked an 'Easterner' (Hi Sardion!) and apparently the West stops after Alberta. BC is apparently 'beyond' West, so I'm not included in that, Yippee! Not that I'm surprised, we have a bit of a 'reputation', and probably not entirely undeserved.

believe in freedom of speech for child porn advocates but suspend elementry school children for questioning the out of control spending habits of our Govenor General who represents the Queen in which the Liberal spit in the face of!

That schoolchild received a personal phone call and apology from the GG, and applauded the child for speaking out. It was in the news, but I guess you didn't notice that.

And I don't know many Canucks who think the GG is a good idea, we all spit at the position, not just the Liberals.

Our old flag was way nicer but it had the english union jack in it and that didn't make quebec happy so we got the lame maple leaf.

There's this neat thing called 'google' on the internet. Try using it. I can't even begin to point out all the inaccuracies in this one statement. The change-over was initially brought up to give our soldiers the respect they deserved, as Canadian military, not British. Had absolutely zip, zero, zilch to do with Quebec, really, unless you blame the soldiers from Quebec for the idea. I'm sure you'll manage to do that, somehow.

When there is an actual website dedicated to great Canadian inventions, I think it pretty much proves my point. Kind of like a site dedicated to great Jewish athletes. The zipper? Yeah, I guess that's a good one - right up there with the Manahattan Project.

BTW, i really like Molson beer.

Have you done a search for US inventions? Plenty of sites dedicated to that, so what's your point again?

Labatt beer is better than Molson by the way ;-)

In regards to the 'Canadian Beer' Myth...Molson is now a publicly traded American corporation since merging with Coors, and Labatt's is owned by Belgian brewing giant Interbrew. All that is left is Sleeman's, which is of negligable quality although many micro-brews are quite talented in reminaing as the vangaurd for quality Canadian beer. Shame on the Molson family for ruining a Canadian establishment tradiiton in the name of paltry profit....if only they had begun to brew better beer!

In the case of Missile defence, I , along with the majority of Canadians is flatly against it as the majority of the motives for its implementation revolves around profit (Frank McKenna is head of Carlyle Group Canada) or imperialist designs based on imaginary threats (see: www.informationclearinghouse.info/video1037.htm ). One who truly wishes to deny ignorance should always asks 'Que Bono?', or who benefits. Unfortunently the Canadian Parliament and especially our present leader is inneffectual in the face of mounting American imperialist aggression and quite frankly, any serious opposition to American Foreign policy initiatives would be without substance as the US (the remaining sole superpower) will act unilateraly anyway.

Let me ask you this- why shouldn't Canada and the rest of NATO consider Americans raining nuclear junk on Canadian soil an act of war?

You pick fights, YOU deal with the consequences.

CANADA Seens to me, is the only friend the United States of America has had for the last solid 100 years.

And then Canada says no to something and all hell breaks lose.

Why do you have to need missles to begin with?

Well.. they mayhaps don't know how to be deliberately destructive .. we just watch the southern folk and understand that being nice is not the American way.. unless what's wanted is 'gotten.

Else we are all friends here in North America --yes?

Have you's ever heard such nonsense?

The reason why Canada "doesn't make any significant contributions to the world" is because we are swallowed up in the American culture bubble. 90% of our media is American, all our successful Canadian corporations are swallowed up by larger American firms, etc.

America and Canada are best friends but America is the big jerk jock that everyone pretends to like because they're afraid they'll get their ass kicked and put into a locker while Canada is the sweet good looking fella who gets all the ladies... Ohhh yeah...

If you take our contributions and multiply them by 10, which is roughly how many times the American population is bigger than the Canadian, we'd probably have just as many accomplishments.

Lies! Al Canadah is the foremost purveyor of sin in this hemisphere. All along the border your pathetic parasitic vultures are luring American youth with alcohol, gambling, prostitution, and promotion of homosexuality. Al Canadah is a joke. The sooner we destroy them the better.

Here we go again.

Will I be accused of not respecting an opinion on this thread too. Apparently I have to respect the opinion that Canada should be nuked.

Canada didn't join the missile defense program for the simple reason that they didn't want to waste their tax dollars on it.

They realize that if the system does work, and if there ever is an incoming intercontinental ballistic missile fired at Canada, that we would use the system to protect them regardless of their participation in it. They're taking advantage of America's kindness! lol

Hmmm, is the punk calling me a coward... I am really getting tired of these people. Oh by "these people" I mean the conservatives.

Let me tell you about a recent event in my life that involved a conservative; I work at bar as a bouncer, this said bar is located beside a strip club. One night, about a month ago, some drunk nutter enters the bar waving a bible preaching about sins and how the "whores and fags must die", well It was my job to get him to leave, now his bible turned out to be hollowed out, enough space to hold a handgun, now he managed to get the gun out and squeezed off 3 shots, 2 of which hit me in the chest, Much of what happened afterwards is still pretty much a blur, but one memory does stand out pretty clear, which is when I stabbed the now DEAD nutter through his left temple. I was out of the hospital in 4 days(what I don't need to waste my time and money with paying a hospital staff to look after me), he is never going home, actually they already cremated the guy.

Nalatroz, what are you talking about? Who called who a coward?

As for your story, that's amazing...glad you came through it ok and he didn't. However, don't paint everyone with the same brush. That guy was a nut job, not cause he was a conservative, but because he was a nut job.

p.s. I'm a liberal and proud of it.

I actually agree with Kinja here. By destroy them he means the values passed without vote by the Liberal government (points to gay marriages). He doesn't actually want to ellicit another holocaust.

Gambling yep, the Liberal government lets just say is making enough bling bling to keep its mouth shut.

As for prostitution, the liberal youths are geared towards legalizing this too (coming from the youth sector of the liberal party in Ontario). They were thinking of going against the status quo. Liberal's party future isn't looking too bright.

No he really means to kill the 32 million people of Canada.

Canada should be nuked... they are morally bankrupt. Absolutely Worthless! Is there anything still illegal in Canada? Windsor is a pure parasite to the city of Detroit. They have a casino with a huge sign facing the US. Virtually forced Michigan to legalize gambling to stop the free flow of cash into this socialist cesspool of prostitutes and subsidized heroin junkies. I have no use for Al Canadah.

like i have said the war of 1812 defines canada as its own country.we have peace policies and americans have to respect it.simple as pie.this is just a test to see what usa can poke canadians into doing.playing games with our govenment is getting alittle boring.fixing the planet should be on the table not this.and yes will just throw more sats up there if we really need to know whats going on in our airspace.besides this will give someone some more gas to throw on north america into another crisis and deplete our countires into more and more debt.thats what the bad guys wanted to do and there winning.dont be a fool and dont live in fear.......

Sure is easy to sit on the sidelines and criticize when other countries have to do all the dirty work to insure future peace for so many countries. Why sit on the side and be impartial, because these countries can. Unfortunately is not something everyone can do. Good cop, bad cop. Yes we can thank these countries for the things they contribute to the arts and invention, they had better keep it up while we die for them.

On another note, why should the U.S. expect Canada to start chipping in on the bill when they can't even demonstrate a working product? Maybe it will be different once we show them it works. Then we should up the cost on devices to protect the borders.

Its like asking someone to buy 10,000 acres of desert for future crops because you show them that you can make one weed grow there. Lets develop it, then sell it. We seem to do that with all of our technology anyways.

Well speaking for myself and myself alone, it's a big maybe on wether I will ever support a system that IMO encorages arms races and will most likely lead to space based weapons platforms. However with that being said, if it is demonstrated to work as advertised then I imagine that alot of people north of the border could get won over by the program and start to exert pressure on Canadian officials to "play ball" so to speak. We shall see what happens...
