Urgent Huge Cyber Attack Happen Now

In the Russian federation they are about to more or less close down the internet, the people whom live in the federation will probably still have access to some business link's and local internet sites but the goal is to isolate the Russian Internet in a return to cold war soviet style control over the people and what they can and can not see and do while it also gives them a cover to do whatever they want as a government while also hiding outside critique from there people.

Sadly this is not just Russia but a global trend, the usual excuses are cybercrime prevention - yes we all want that gone, cyberterrorism prevention and yes we all want that gone, national security - understandable but open to abuse, copyright protection - fair enough but goes COMPLETELY against the founding principle's of the internet itself and it's inherent structure as a social sharing media.

The FACT though is that they are doing this for one simple reason and that is CONTROL.

The Norse DDoS attack map keeps giving me a 520 Code, so I guess everyone is trying to look at the same time.

This one is OK

Right now it does look like there are some heavy duty attacks happening.

Facebook down is good news.

You having issues with Google or Youtube does not mean they are down, it means you are having issues with them unless their are reports indicating more..which there arent.

Looks like a fairly quiet day from what I'm seeing on the historical tracking.

If there were in fact a large cyber attack going on, I wouldn't be posting and avoiding report writing.

Yeah, not sure what's up with that one. They have a pretty robust internal IR team, so if it is an attack of some sort, we'll probably never know unless there's data compromise. At that point they would probably engage third parties, not sure who they actually would use or have a retainer with. I know there was some talk of them buying us out at one point, which I really hope they don't, pretty happy with the small group we have.

If it's just service degradation, they can write it off as unscheduled/unplanned maintenance. Most likely though, someone did something silly unintentionally.

Whatsapp is fine for me. Use it to talk to my BF in Holland, can't use Facebook or Instagram. Not a big deal. It's not affecting everyone either just some. It's not the end of the world.

Oh how I wish all that crap would disappear forever. Let people go back to actual telephone calls and speaking to people and maybe even dare I mention...letter writing! Perhaps then kids would learn to sodding spell interact with actual people and learn some grammar!
