Cops: Jackson gay-rights activist set fire to home in hate crime hoax

When Nikki Joly's Jackson home burned down in 2017, some believed the fire was a hate crime against the transgender, gay-rights activist who had fought for a local anti-discrimination ordinance. But now, instead of a victim, the 54-year-old is accused of being the perpetrator.

Authorities are accusing Joly, who was named Citizen of the Year by the Jackson Citizen Patriot last year, of setting fire to his own home and killing his pets, two dogs and three cats. He has been charged with first-degree arson.

Setting fire to your own home to garner attention to yourself and your agenda is bad enough. Doing it with FIVE pets in the home, killing them all, is beyond disgraceful.

The incidents of hate crimes are so low (not at zero but lower than in the 60's) that people now feel the need to manufacture fake crimes.

NOTE: That 17% increase figure you might have heard bandied about is due to more agencies reporting on events that have been happening before. What that means is with more input data, the 17% increase is actually an adjustment of the numbers to be closer to reality.

Is it a positive thing, no. But, still it does not happen as often as it did prior to the civil rights movement. Can't we consider that a good thing?? And continue to move forward toward reducing that number further with education and not fear by manufacturing hate?

Pretty bad when the only way for the crazy leftists to grab some attention is to hoax out a hate crime killing their own animals. This is why if we had sanitariums for the insane, they would have to house at least 25% of the population. These people are nuts.

Naw, you're not going to hear from them, including fellow LGBT activists. Remember, the LGBT community view biological facts as "myths" and the Democratic Party, including MSM, won't acknowledge anything that ruins their narrative. They are masters at deflecting the truth and spinning things to suit their own needs.

Actions have consequences. In this case, we have two:

The next time a "hate crime" (still not sure what that means) occurs, less people will believe it. This soon after Jussie Smollett, the crime actually serves to reinforce in people's minds that a hate crime may likely be a hoax. Another consequence is that perpetrators of real hate crimes will become emboldened, since the victim will be more likely to be blamed.

This also gives some insight into the mind of these "activists." I place that word in quotes because they are not really advocating for anything... they are rather demonstrating that their own pets are simply pawns to be treated any way they choose if it has a possibility of advancing some political agenda borne out of their own insanity. Others on this 'side' have advocated infanticide, which is the same thing with their own children. I ask, in all seriousness, if someone is mentally unstable enough to kill their own pets or their own children, what would they do to their opponents given a chance?

We truly live in a world of terrorism. There is no need to look to the Middle East any more for that.

The problem is that racism, bigotry, homophobia, and discrimination in general are so rare these days that leftist have to make sh*t up to prove they are in fact victims.

We had a gay bar owner in my town do something similar. Burned his place down and tried to blame it on homophobia / racists by putting up swastikas and slurs on the walls. He wanted the insurance money as the business was failing. The problem is that my town is extremely liberal and welcoming to gays so the crime made no sense (80% of the churches fly rainbow flags and we have drag queen story time to little kids at the library.) The few conservatives in the town pointed out that it made no sense from Day 1, but the leftist here were eager to lend their support, etc. Sure enough about six months later, the hoax was verified.

Critical thought is missing from the left. They just take everything they are told at face value without any kind of thought to if what they are being told makes sense.
