Publicity stunt... he knows that where it is illegal it is most often because of religion and he knows thats never going to change.
He loses nothing by saying this and he risks nothing. Maybe he gets a gay vote...

No Big Whoop.

So you don't like the idea?

Then his number 1 enemy globally is organized religion. It does not matter if it's Judeo-Christian or Muslim or what have you, they all preach that God hates the gays.

What a weird thing for him to do all of a sudden when he is trying to garner more support from evangelicals pre-election.

Is he trying to make some friends on the left and smooth thing over a bit?

Hmm. I guess the Christian gays didn't get that memo.

So the detractors say its because of religion.

So how do you guys plan on getting rid of religion and still have Muslims around to protect?

He said "organized religion". Christian gays are aware of churches and organizations such as Westboro Baptist Church.

Uh-huuuuh. Do you think that means all Christians, besides gay Christians, accept WBC?

That's an odd question to ask me.

It’s fantastic watching people talk themselves out of thinking this is a good thing. As soon as they get their imaginations going it sets off a chain reaction of casuistry and group think. Spectacular.

No, this is a good thing that benefits no one but the victims of anti-gay criminalization, bigotry, and murder.

Who doesn't think this is a good idea? The only poster who thinks that is a Trump supporter.

Mostly I was referring to those on the front page pooh-poohing the idea, or implying Trump and co have ulterior, malicious motives without evidence.

I'm in no way saying that Jesus was anti-gay. If he were around today, he'd probably be hanging out with homosexuals along with everyone else (being that he was friends with misfits and various other ostracized people). However, a lot of Christians (and Catholics/Protestants/etc) don't act much like Jesus at all.

If Jesus were around today He would be preaching the same messages of purity about marriage as He did back then. Jesus didn’t ‘hang’ with prostitutes and gays because he agreed with their lifestyles. He did it because He loved them and wished and hoped to convert them, often being successful, as in the story of Mary Magdeline.

Why try to convert them, if they aren't "against" the sin? If he/they love them for who they are, why try to change who they are?

I'm just never going to understand that religion. Christ died for our sins, but we'll still go to hell if we sin, and people that sin won't be welcome in the kingdom of heaven unless they confess/repent, despite the fact that someone already died to save them from all of their sins.

Sorry to bounce us off-topic.

Bottom line, it definitely isn't within Trump's power to do this on a global level, but if he started calling out anti-gay politicians here in America and holding them accountable, I'd be all for it.

Why wouldn't anyone embrace "Love your neighbor as yourself".

All our laws are because we DON'T love enough.

One can have a good idea and have some ulterior motive.

Would the elitists push for the decriminalization of Pedophilia in the future? this move is very dangerous.

Sure. But believing there are ulterior motives, and worse, that you believe you know the motive, is a double stupidity.

He love gays, lesbians....it was trans-genders he finds repulsive. He does have soft spots for the "average" LGBT rainbow crowd...just not trans/g's as soldiers.

He has SOME srcuples at least (somewhere, someplace)....!*

I think the problem Trump has with transgenders in the military is the huge cost they are to the military. Many only join the military so they get the free sex change, then spend a large amount of time on paid sick leave as well. This infuriates some of the higher ups in the military who don’t like being ‘used’, and that filters over to Trump.

Trump makes a lot of his decisions based on opinions of those in the know. This is my opinion.

Oh man, this would be really good news, if it wouldn't just be a stab at Iran.

And look what a person on the net just mentioned:
Over the past 17 months, Trump and his administration have:

1 Removed all mention of lgbt anything from the White House, DoL, and DoS websites

2 Rescinded title XI protections for trans students in schools

3 Removed anything lgbt from The National Survey of Older Americans Act Participants and the Annual Program Performance Report for Centers for Independent Living

4 Put Roger Severino (anti-lgbt activist and employee of the Heritage Foundation) in charge of Health and Human Services

5 Tried to cut funding for HIV/AIDS research

6 Removed lgbt questions from the 2020 census

7 Filed to dismiss the lawsuit against against North Carolina for discrimination with HB2

8 Declined both years to issue a presidential proclamation claiming June as Pride Month, breaking an 8-year streak under Obama

9 Nominated Stephen S. Schwartz to the US Court of Federal Claims, who had previously worked with NC legislators to support HB2

10 Declared that the Department of Education won't investigate civil rights complaints in schools regarding lgbt people

11 Tried to remove sexual orientation and gender identity from the Department of Commerce's Equal Employment Policy

12 Nominated Mark Norris to the US District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, who supported legislation to allow mental health professionals to discriminate against lgbt people

13 Tried repeatedly to ban transgender people from serving in the military

14 Filed a DoJ brief opposing workplace discrimination protections for lgbt people

15 Sent out an email newsletter linking to a Heritage Foundation article on how being trans is a mental disorder

16 Nominated L. Steven Grasz to the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, who has close ties to Focus on the Family

17 Refused to condemn white nationalists in Charlottesville

18 Nominated Jeff Mateer to the US District Court for the Eighth District of Texas, who called trans children "Satan's plan"

19 Nominated Gregory Katsas to the US Federal Court of Appeals for the Circuit of DC, who worked to implement the trans military ban

20 Rolled back Title XI guidelines protecting sexual assault survivors on campuses

21 Filed a DoJ amicus brief in support of "religious exemptions"

22 Removed lgbt people and their health needs from the Department of Health and Human Services's strategic plan

23 Reversed a DoJ policy providing discrimination protections for trans people in the workplace

24 Rolled back the ACA's birth control benefit

25 Introduced religious exemptions for government workers and contractors

26 Withdrawn support for NYC's permanent pride flag at Stonewall and dropped out of the dedication ceremony

27 Spoken at the Family Research Council's Values Voter Summit

28 Joked of Pence when asked about lgbt rights: “Don’t ask that guy—he wants to hang them all!”

29 Delivered the keynote address at the Heritage Foundation Presidents Club's annual meeting

30 Endorsed Roy Moore

31 Argued in support of the baker who refused to bake for a gay couple

32 Backed the position that business owners should be able to put up "no gays signs"

33 Instructed staff at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention not to use the terms “transgender,” “vulnerable,” “entitlement,” “diversity,” “fetus,” “evidence-based,” and “science-based” in official budget documents.

34 Fired the entire White House Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS

Thats a lot to take in, right?

CNN has pulled some doozies of lies.

People always say that. They have not given a single example of that. Neither has Trump. It is just something that is phantom that Trump tossed out to his supporters to bite.

WTH???
You have GOT to be kidding!

I watch ten minutes and spin miester comes to mind. They are pushing a PC agenda and that REQUIRES they attempt to brainwash people to work. Agenda's in MSM is pushing a lie to get what they want.

I read it. He is essentially saying that nothing will change and Trump knows it. The radical religions and leaders will not change.
