I think it’s like any other wall designed to separate human beings and block out people who are running away from the humanitarian disasters. I just think it’s wrong,” she added.

for which she received a tweet saying this:

Dear @AOC: Let me serve as your private professor here. The Berlin Wall was meant to keep people inside the socialist/communist utopia and stop them from fleeing to the decadent capitalist west. So as the New Millennial Lenin, you might want to refrain from using this example.

I have two questions about this. First off, will she publicly condemn all the leaders who have in the past supported a wall on the southern border? A good number of her colleagues have in the past supported the existing wall and it's construction. I realize that the MSM won't mention that save for Fox news, but that doesn't change the part where it happened.

Second, the Berlin wall? It's called history, look into it.

I don't think this woman is stupid, and I don't think she is intentionally being anti American, I do think she is clueless of the bigger picture, needs some serious schooling on the world, before she has power to make the mistakes she has thus far, and I think until that changes, with her popularity, she and her followers are a dangerous group. My advice for her, get a clue first, then flap your gums. in that order.

I don't know if she's stupid. But she certainly seems to be ignorant of quite a lot.

She seems to me to be the stereotypical ignorant American college student. Full of socialist tropes but no real experience or knowledge of what she's talking about.

Unfortunately for us, she now is in a position to shape policy.

Ummm your OP is wrong. Should be THOUGHT, not THOUGHTS. The plural form might imply a complex process is taking place.

Once the DNC collapses under the weight of its unfulfilled promises, the Libertarian Party can flourish to take on the big-government RINOs. We can team up with some of the classical liberals and deliver an era of true individual liberty and prosperity.

The Right wing MAGA dude on AtS getting all the stars and flags isn’t an elected member of Congress.

And if you read AOCs tweet and then the response it was more about the irony of a confessed socialist even mentioning the Berlin Wall.
In the context of a MAGA dude referencing it it makes sense, the wall did its job. It was a very effective barrier that stopped people getting from one side to the other.

We don’t feel threatened, amused yes, frustrated yes, but definitely not threatened.
Personally I wish the entire Trump opposition consisted of people like AOC

No, I agree with the sentiment that the Berlin wall worked as advertised. Sure it's purpose was a bit different, but it's action was solid. It provided a barrier to stop movement. Sure there were guards who would shoot you for trying to cross it, where in the US, we provide food clothing and welfare to those who cross it, but otherwise, very similar.

Walls do what walls do, regardless of the walls political affiliation.
