A man will fly around the world in the globalflyer!

Will he do it?

Do you notice similar things in the design of these two aircrafts:-

If you look at the global flyer, it looks like a v1 rocket with to glider planes attached to it each side. Amazing dont you think or just a kopykat?

HEHE actually it looks a lot more like the Voyager aircraft that also flew around the world. But this one has a jet so if it does make it around the world, it will probably break Voyager's record. Here is a pic of it: www.unb.ca...

I wouldn't compare it to the buzz bomber. This aircraft was built by Scaled Composites, Burt Rutan has being making "odd" looking long winged planes for years. His company built the last record breaker "Voyager", and one of the pilots for that was his brother Dick Rutan. Voyager had 2 pilots (they switched on & off), it took em 9 days to circle earth. Global Flyer will have just one pilot, but with good GPS and autopilot these days he will still be able sleep and eat. Their planning on beating the old recordd off non-stop, 9 days. There aiming for 80 hours (3 days & 8 hours).

Burt Rutan and Scaled Composites also built SpaceShipOne that was the first private manned space craft last year. This guy has a history of firsts. Oh and the pilot is Steve Fossett - the guy who ballooned his way around the world not that long ago.
