AAG Matt Whitaker Says Bob Muellers Decisions Will Be Reviewed. MSM-DEMS Freak Out Again.

Earlier this week, Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker held a press conference to announce indictments against a Chinese telecom firm.

In the middle of this briefing to reporters, Whitaker veered off-topic to mention that he "has been briefed" on the status of Special Counsel Bob Mueller's Russian Interference investigation. He also said he believed "the investigation is nearing its end".

Because Whitaker had openly criticized aspects of the Mueller investigation before becoming the AAG, those two statements caused liberal media outlets like CNN and MSNBC to go ballistic.

Even though Matthew Whitaker is now officially Bob Mueller's boss, Democrats & MSM don't want him interacting with Mueller's investigation in any way.

They believe his statement that the investigation is nearing its end, was Whitaker publicly exerting pressure on Bob Mueller to finish his fishing expedition ASAP, before he could reel in the biggest fish in the ocean... President Donald J. Trump.

After taking a day to calm down, a few media outlets listened to Matthew Whitaker's press briefing again. And, you guessed it, they heard something else to totally freak-out about! Here it is:

"I am comfortable that the decisions that were made (by Bob Mueller) are going to be reviewed through the various means we have", Whitaker stated.

Sen. Christopher A. Coons (D-Del.) called it “chilling” to consider that Whitaker may review the Mueller report.

Conservative political analyst Bill Kristol used the word “alarming.”

Former solicitor general Neal Katyal called it “unconstitutional” and “unwise,” and predicted that such a review would “ultimately undo” Whitaker.

“It is absolutely unforgivable that Whitaker is in any position to know anything about the Mueller investigation, let alone claim to be ‘reviewing’ it.

He has just about as much business doing that as a fox does in a henhouse!” Katyal tweeted.

I wonder what Mueller Decisions are "going to be reviewed" by the Department of Justice, and what the reason will be for reviewing them?

Even though the permanent Attorney General (William Barr) is expected to be confirmed for that position by the Senate during the second week of February, Democrats in the U.S. House will grill outgoing AAG Matthew Whitaker (in open session) on Friday Feb 8th. Panic-induced desperation is causing Democrats in Congress to abandon their rational/logical thought processes.

Democrats were spoiled by former AG JEFF SESSIONS "recusing" himself from overseeing Bob Mueller, without so much as a whimper.

Because Matthew Whitaker said (in early 2018) that Bob Mueller was "going too far" by indicting people for things totally unrelated to Russian meddling, Democrats want Whitaker to recuse himself, now that he's Mueller's boss. Instead of recusing, he told Democrats to go pound sand.

If the Democrats ''ethics and standards'' were spread across the board, then Mueller and nearly every single investigator would need to excuse themselves, because they're all involved one way or another with Democratic figures, the past administration or questionable behavior related to the investigation.

Here's a thing, what if Mueller has made a decision not to convict a sitting President, because it is 'not the done thing', but Whittaker wants to review that decision in the light of the seriousness of the charges.

You see, both sides can play the pure speculation game and it avails nothing.

As Mueller is demonstrating, if you only met Donald Trump briefly (like Papadopoulos), you're subject to being arrested.

Thanks for chiming in with your angle of speculation. There's always something that can be learned by looking at things from several angles.

What if Mueller concludes there was no collusion? Are the Dems going to accept that?

Or will they try to investigate Mueller?

Mueller just asked for and received a six months extension for his grand jury.
I bet you guys would be glad if the report were buried.

trump surrounded himself with low life criminals whom he thought he could control like some mafia boss.
He never saw Mueller coming. He thought he was off scott free when he got rid of Flynn.
The american people are not going to stand for the report being buried. If he tries that its really over for him.

They are going to confirm Barr in couple of weeks. Whitaker is going to be out.
and these guys are or at least should be dedicated to the law. If trump committed crimes he is not going to get away with them no matter who the AG is. You guys are as much as saying you know hes a crook and are hoping he gets away with it with the help of an unconfirmed substitute for the office.

Hey why arent the republicans appointing anyone to the oversight committee? Do they really believe they can delay now that its not their party any longer?

but...you said he was already going to jail for being a criminal. Sure you were never able to offer a crime, but you sure were certain he was going to jail. Are all leftovers this confused?

Six more months of a criminal running the country? Why is Mueller acting so reckless and/or incompetent?

From what I understand, it is Bob Mueller that is the fox in the hen house. I don’t understand why there is not a quicker way to cut off his funding and investigation.

Those complaining never understood the SC process to begin with.
The doj doesn't have to release anything; the doj doesn't even have to tell the public the investigation is complete.
Mueller has to turn in a report to his boss.
The msm has confused the easily confuseable and made them think Mueller has some kind of wizard power to make trump go to jail.
Now when the shenanigans are over they will be sad.

I can't believe people are still ignorant/blind enough to think there was Russian collusion. Hillary lost and it's time for them to get over it. Russians didn't change any minds.

Just my two cents -

AAG Whitaker's statement doesn't actually say anything directly about the DOJ reviewing (investigating) Mueller's report - rather his decisions will be reviewed by "various means we have".
Could be within any DOJ Agency, within DOJ itself, or any outside agency.
Whitaker says he is comfortable that decisions will be reviewed - my cut on it is that he may be relieved he isn't going to be doing the reviewing.
