"Did Airstrike Kill Taliban Mastermind or Civilians?"

"Kabul, Afghanistan --- Afghanistan's intelligence agency said on Wednesday that the mastermind of a bloody attack on the agency's base had been killed in an airstrike, but residents and local officials in the area said the airstrike had in fact targeted a group of hunters on a hilltop."

quote: The New York Times INTERNATIONAL - By FAHIM ABED and FATIMA FAIZI - Thursday January 24, 2019

Has anybody had the chance to hunt wild game populations in Afghanistan, and what type of wild game critters roam the land over there?

Thanks...

Erno

Some of the world's best wild Taliban hunting is in those mountains.

There the Marco Polo Sheep, bears and a few other animals worth hunting in Afghanistan.

Most locals hunt those for subsistence. I would have to know what part of Afghanistan, but you're missing the link.

Goats, i bet there are lots of goats.

I don't know if ibex are immune to fall damage but if there is a micro ledge over a mountain and some grass to chew there is going to be goats goating arround

Sorry...I can't supply you with the New York Times link, since my 6 free views for this month's NYT's has expired.

I would be thankful if anybody could post the link.

Ok. So as far as I can surmise this happened in Wardak Province.

This is also where Extortion 17 went down.

A lot of fighting has gone on there.

Do those count as big game or as furries?

I'm so confused.

Can't tell the difference if you go by smell.

Sorry for the delay...

Here's the link to the NYT's Afghan airstrike report:

www.nytimes.com...

Yes...the reported airstrike happened in Wardak Province.

I also heard that live grenade fishing in some of Afghanistan's rivers is fantastical.
