McCarthy submitted that resolution 10 hours ago, according to his Twitter page. I think President Trump made the decision tonight to delay the SOTU, for some specific reason.

Oh I think that as pointed out above Trump has something up his sleeve (he hasn't failed to follow The Art of War yet), so this could very well be part or just a happy coincidence. Either way I think Thursday will be interesting. If Pelosi doesn't allow this resolution to be voted on, then it could be grounds for her to be removed as speaker. If she does allow it, then she risks being forced to allow Trump to give the SOTU on the 29th.

TRUMP BLINKS?

President Trump announced on Twitter late Wednesday that he will deliver a "great" State of the Union address after the partial government shutdown is over, ending a tense day in Washington where Republicans criticized House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for blocking the president from giving the speech.
More at: www.foxnews.com...

IMO: This is a psychological move, to drum up sympathy for him, and additional ire from the country against Nasty-Nancy Pelosi.

-CareWeMust

Yes Trump Blinks. I'm not a big fan of Pelosi but she is a real leader.

I just have to ask...

What exactly do you think she is leading?

Maybe.

It's also a good move for him because after the reopen he will have a massive forum to claim his victory.

Which no mater how this ends is what he will do.

Also it helps our divisiveness a little.

Trump got polsi by stopping her overseas trip she got him back with this.
Balanced the scales a little? Hopefully.

Well, after the braintrust that was the liberal MSM this last week, I'm just not sure some people should be saying anything.

The only real takeaway from this is that president Trump wants to end the shutdown more than he wants a "win" over Pelosi right now. Sure he could have done the STOU elsewhere, but that would have only solidified the other side and assured no negotiations to end the shutdown.

There's a long way to go between now and 2020. Future history will have to sort it all out ultimately.

It's all on madame No now.

As usual, Trump folds like a cheap suit. And people here try to spin it as some kind of victory.

If he was led away in shackles to a federal penitentiary there’d be a plethora of threads talking about how he’s really just owning the Democrats.

Jesus open your eyes... That is not what is happening.
His own childishness is holding up the process.
He is NEVER GETTING HIS WALL....NEVER.
He needs to realize in the real world he doesnt always get his way.
I think he is getting it now.
