My family was living in the land long before the rest of you arrived; so I guess I am a little bit anti-immigrant.

I am very much anti-illegal immigrant though. But, then again, all the rest of you are still here. So, we'll wait until that part of the problem is solved before we move on to the next.

Anti illegal alien, is not anti immigration.

I completely support legal, immigrants.

What I do not support is illegal aliens, getting a pass and pushed to front of the line ahead of those who came here legally.

If that's wrong, I don't want to be right.

Some people blame brown people for their ills.

Some people do not.

The vast majority of both groups oppose illegal immigration.

I went through the immigration process when I married my wife... real pain in the butt... fees for this.... fees for that. I complained the whole time.... then we got the the medical exam.....and we found that she had a health problem that was unknown to her. Nothing contagious or anything.... but something that needed to be addressed.

Legal immigration, not very convenient.. but it is the right way, the best way. legal immigration can not only save the life of the person who wants to come..... but it can also prevent bad things from happening ... those dam unexpected consequences

Legal immigration, even in the context of a severely flawed system, is the only legitimate way we should accept immigrants.

A mid evil wall as a solution is campaign nonsense endorsed by children.

You and I as taxpayers should never be forced by government to pay Billions for a campaign slogan and double that for a lie that Mexico would pay for it.

No need for northern wall. Up north is a first world country. Down south is many third world countries. You’ve really thought this through.

So why do you make the connection between immigrants, legal or otherwise, and “brown people”

To use the lack of a northern wall...... as a way to refute a southern wall.. is like saying law enforcement should not be bought bullet proof vests..... because their head is still exposed.

Canada isn't run by Cartels that are, themselves, effectively terrorist organizations because they kill government officials to get what they want.

The USA can't classify them as terrorist organizations and go after them, though, because then they would use the power they possess over our Southern border to allow other terrorist organizations access.

Soon we might not even be able to go after them via normal legal means. Not while we are that exposed.

You think perhaps it might make sense to quit giving them that advantage? Put ourselves in charge of our own border, rather than let a terrorist organization control it?

The land itself isn't what people are flocking to. It's the country and system that was built on top of that land.

There are other nations with better land under their feet. But most of them don't have better roads, or better irrigation systems, or better power grids.

True, but, first passing a federal law abolishing all federal or state aid to illegal aliens, and I'd also support a law making it a criminal offense for any federal or state employee to knowingly make it possible for an illegal alien to get such aid.

Not much I can think of to do about that other than good old police investigative work, since I am absolutely against any/all programs that require men or women to 'ask permission' of any government agency (federal or state) to engage in private contracts (employment, etc).

So the problems that illegals cause in this country will not be solved by a wall.

Haven't seen anyone make that claim...

Our insatibale appetite for cheap labor and drugs will not be solved by a wall.

But of course they are both irrelevant...

I saw a post that said Mexico should stop producing and smuggling drugs over here and then you'll see Americans climbing the walls to get to Mexico....sad but true.

If it can be shown that the employer knowingly hired undocumented workers, or had reason to believe the documents could be false, then the legal workers at the establishment should be allowed to sue the employer for "lost wages". Claiming that any over time they could have worked and didn't get to, was stolen from them by an unfair (or actually, illegal) hiring practice.

The employer, in turn, Would claim the illegal worker defrauded them, and file a police report for fraud (to make themselves appear less complicit.)

Get civil lawyers involved, and you don't got to worry about where the money is coming from to enforce your laws anymore.

Employers will shape up real quick.
