Those bills are about paying the workers.

If those bills had been allowed to be voted on by the senate the workers would never have lost any pay.

Yeah but paying them and having them sit at home is definitely the worst option. I'm just saying even if people don't agree about whether to fire them or not, they could still agree not to pay them for no work. Or they could have them build a road or something, if they are dead set on paying them.

Exactly right. On January 9th, Pesident Trump sat right across from Nancy Pelosi, and point blank asked:

"I asked what is going to happen in 30 days, if I quickly open things up. Are you going to approve Border Security which includes a Wall or Steel Barrier? Nancy said, "NO"."

"I said bye-bye, nothing else works!" Trump added. He then stood up and walked out of the room.

They will get paid either way...

This way people can still feed their family and pay the bills while waiting for the children in congress to remember they are theoretical adults.

Of course, but I'm saying that if they want to pass a bill to pay them, then why not work as well? This is nuts, come on. What's the point. Maybe they can make a special bill that lets them pretend to have a shutdown, but the employees should still work.

The wall is part of border security. The people who work on the border have asked repeatedly for it among other measures many times.

They will do the same amount of work no matter when they get paid, yea the govt should not be shut down, and the budget should be balanced, and we shouldn't have people making a living out of being in office.

but all the above are true, so why not at least make certain the workers don't lose homes, or have credit ruined because the politicians don't know how to compromise.

No..there were several people (Dems/Repubs) at the table. Noone refuted the President's statement of what was said. It was a VERY VERY short meeting.

OK. Let's follow the premise that she has voted for increased border security.

Let's also look at the situation along our southern border.

Clearly none of the measures she was willing to vote for seemed to have worked. So it's time to do something different, not more of the same which seems to be all she will do.

You and Schemer both missed the point apparently...Trump's not giving up on the wall and Pelousy isn't giving up on trying to destroy Trump...What Trump did was to show compassion for the out of work federal workers...You, Schemer and Pelousy showed you have none for the starving workers...You apparently want those workers to experience real hardship since you think you can place the blame on Trump...
