Democrats seem to be against every human being on the planet these days!

Maybe THEY no longer consider themselves to be part of the human race?

The Democrat-controlled House has rejected a GOP measure to pay furloughed workers, while the government is closed, in a 222-195 vote. Only 6 Democrats voted for the GOP measure.

“While Democrats flail under their misguided leadership, Republicans continue to offer solutions. This time we are working to get federal employees paid and give Democrats time to negotiate an end to the shutdown,” a spokeswoman for House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said in an email to reporters.

This harkens back to a thread I started last week. Government employees are earning an income, they're just not receiving it in their bank account. It makes a lot of sense to alleviate their cash-flow problem NOW...since they're going to get it eventually, anyway. It's not Federal Employee's fault that Congress is dysfunctional.

This is not a theory, or a what-if scenario. HOUSE DEMOCRATS ACTUALLY VOTED to not pay laid-off government employees, or those who are working without pay!

It wasn't a bill to re-open the government or end the shutdown. It had nothing to do with The Wall. It was just to give the government workers their back pay. And the House voted it down 222-195, with only 6 Democrats voting for it.

Fine job there, Nancy

Acording to the latest poll 71% of Americans don't think the wall is worth the shutdown 28% say it is worth it. Trumps approval rating has fallen 6% down to 36% approval rating 59% disapproval rating since the shutdown began. 66% say the president should end the shutdown without the wall.

Oh you missed other poll apparently, it's 93%. By tomorrow I expect the poll to be at least 120% of Americans say no wall. Should hit the 200% mark by the weekend, finishing around 300% to end the month.

There's already a Democratic-proposed bill on the table to reopen the government and would fund the government through February 28th, it's expected to be approved but it's "dead on arrival" in the Senate and a vote is going to happen next week.

Why would they vote yes on this GOP bill? The GOP bill doesn't include re-opening the government. The Democratic bill does.

Which would ultimately be better for government workers?

From your article: “This is a political stunt to distract from the fact that Republicans are about to vote for the ninth time to keep the government shutdown,” a Democratic aide told The Hill on the GOP motion.

It would seem that Dems aren't the only "CALLOUS" people in the government, since the GOP is repeatedly voting to keep it closed, keeping people from their jobs, and from earning money.

Now that you mention it...Democrats have $56 billion allocated in their bill for safeguarding other countries. Good point!

Who will they blame now?
So who owns the shutdown now ? This shutdown sees more ownership changes than a baby gets its diaper changed which is ironic because the way they are acting it’s like they need their diapers changed...lol

If you're looking for a President who makes decisions based on polls, instead of what he/she feels is best for American citizens, work hard to get an empty-suit elected in 2020.

Except when the Democrat measure gets rejected, the media will report callous Republicans don't want govt employees to get paid. They won't even bother to mention the bill voted down by Democrats that would have paid them.

Republicans have voted EIGHT times to not reopen the government. That means they've voted eight times to not let government workers return to their jobs.

But sure, the Dems are the bad ones for not voting for this ONE bill.

Poll by MSNBC as usual. But if Trump meddles in the affairs of Venezuela well then for sure politically Trump is finished.

It's a pissing contest. The Democrats want to reopen it (even if it's only for a month) so they can claim victory, the GOP wants to fund the wall so that they can at least partially fulfill that promise made.

The statement within the article is stacked, stating that the "Republicans are about to vote for the 9th time to keep the government shutdown."..... implying that only Democratic resolutions to the shutdown are legitimate, and any Republican resolutions to the shutdown are meaningless hinderances and nothing but inadvertent shutdown votes.

They just need to approve the funding and stop playing these games. democrat approval for funding was at 44% until Trump was announced as the nominee, and then it dropped to 12%, because Orange Man Bad.

Actually, it was Politico's poll. Which explains how they managed to come up a patently-absurd result like 7%.

Source?

And not the comment from an aide in the OP's link, the actual congressional votes.

Search congressional votes for the current congress. Do primary research yourself. Since I am not the person you responded too but can take literally seconds of my time do do this for you.

Every vote done in the house since the 116th congress started this year.

If you need someone to hold your hand the rest of the way just ask.

The bill would allow for people to get paid whilst the politicians argue of the use of border security funds.

Who in their right mind would be against that?
The Democrats can no longer say this is about 800k govt workers - they just refused to pay them because of politics. 100% on them now.
