Where did she get the numbers?
Granted AOC somewhat exaggerated the problem or somewhat overstated the point, but...........

www.vox.com...
The number 12 comes from the IPCC report and the UN!

We have just 12 years to make massive and unprecedented changes to global energy infrastructure to limit global warming to moderate levels, the United Nation’s climate science body said in a monumental new report released Sunday. “There is no documented historic precedent” for the action needed at this moment, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) wrote in its 700-page report on the impacts of global warming of 2.7 degrees Fahrenheit, or 1.5 degrees Celsius.

So, to all you AOC haters, SHE'S CORRECT! This is why she's the most important and valuable new addition to Congress since JFK! This is why AOC IS the future of US politics!

Same people that used phony temp data?
Those people?
Hmmm
Guess she better get her ass to india and china and tell them to cut it out.
Oh ...she is not going to make them stop?
Thought this was her WWII?
Or just another dem cash grab?

She’s totally off the charts dangerous. Mostly because the whole Democrat Party is following her like a lost puppy dog. And people believe her. Her whole spiel is a version of Marxism. She’s got the Green Red thing
going.

I'm still amazed at her timing. I mean, if you wanted to convince the world that the planet was warming, why would you do it in winter? The optics suck: "the climate is heating up!" "YAY!"

Better to pick somewhere around the middle of July or August when the temperature is already high and get a more desirable response to the weather turning hotter... does no one ever think of things like that?

She said the world will end in 12 years. That's a completely different thing than the IPPC's claim that we must make significant changes over the next 12 years in order to limit global warming to moderate levels. Your reading comprehension and deductive reasoning suck.

I understood that! I said she mis spoke. What you dont understand is that in AOCs world, its a distinction without a difference. It doesnt matter. JUst like the bogus IPCC numbers, it doesnt matter. The truth doesnt matter. What matters is the prosecution of the agenda that Climate change provides a convenient excuse for.

They said that 12 years ago...

Before that, we were supposed to have another mini iceage.

It's always the end of the world with them. If the world was going to end, there is nothing any of us could do to prevent such.

It is as feeble a concept, as proposing we save dinosaurs from extinction if time travel is ever invented.

As nice of an idea it may be to some, it just isn't realistic.

Ask yourselves a question. What is the simplest, most cost effective course of action to take with regard to an increase in the intensity of climate change, whether it be natural or anthropomorphic?

For myself, considering that for the last 300 years or so we have been pumping gases and pollutants into the air and land and waters, and increased our production of said gases and pollutants year on year, how can it be denied that we are contributing to our own environmental demise?

Climate change, in and of itself will not wipe us out, but it will kill people as it progresses through whatever changes occur. What will kill us more quickly, and more assuredly, is our disregard to the health of our environments and our crop-producing capabilities, which climate changes will affect drastically through droughts on the one hand, and severe weather storms on the other. A reduction in the ability to deliver energy to our homes, and fresh water and food to places where we can buy it and stock up will become a real factor in societal breakdown. A reduction in any one of those three essentials will deliver a massive insult upon our developed societies, whilst a reduction in all three will probably see an irrecoverable breakdown occur rapidly.

Catastrophe migration will make economic migration look like a drop in the ocean. People will not be able to live where the environment cannot sustain them...and why should they?

Don't look to those we elect to lead us to a utopia, they have neither the intelligence or the will to want to do so. They see us divided by ideology and by culture, which is where they want us. While we bicker and disagree amongst ourselves, how can any kind of consensus towards 'right action' ever be reached. An over-populated world that needs feeding is an expendable one to them. Severe changes to climate around the globe will cull millions of people, but it won't all happen in the same instance on the same day, or by the same storm.

Cull by climate and environmental instability will take years, but its intensity will just keep on increasing, and so-called rationale ideas will be formed that will look both draconian and totalitarian in order to save the 'right' people, and not everyone.

This week, NASA and NOAA announced that 2017’s ozone hole, at 7.6 million square miles, was the smallest since 1988.

The ozone hole is at its smallest size since 1988, thanks to hot air and a massive international effort Agreeing to ban ozone depleting chemicals is paying off.

LOL I remember when that was at the point of no return, now it looks like minimum regulations and natural weather cycles play a much larger part than thought before. The Inconvenient truth is there is no way to get the world on board to change even if the US was motivated to do so itself. Its up to the scientists and engineers to design invent better options, cost saving options and they will have a better chance at being adopted

I get that you don't want anyone taking away personal liberties granted by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. However, the storm is coming. There are companies that place bets on disasters. That's how they make their money. They are not betting on Florida.

Flood insurance

40% of Americans live within 50 miles of a coastline. That is 130 million people potentially affected by rising sea levels, coastal flooding and extreme weather. I don't care whose fault it is, but we need to take action.

Really you do know the climate warming they fear you know the runaway greenhouse effect like on venus will not happen here .
Why you ask because there is a tremendous amount of co2 on venus and there in no way of creating that much co2 on earth without a planetoid comprised of co2 smacking into us or all volcanos on planet going off and vaporizing all biomarker on planet in either of those scenarios co2 is not going to be our main concern.
