LOL you guys are so easily manipulated. I see why CNN does it.

Oh right of course you don't really sit at home cleaning your gun wishing invaders would come through the door to get shot, you just wrote it for the lolz...

Ask yourself what makes more sense . Almost everything I write on this board is for the LOLz

I am thinking he shot two that entered his house then maybe shot at the three while they were outside approaching. No telling who casings were outside, attackers, defender or both.

Five on one?

Considering the outcome...I'd say the one is a bad ass dude that you really want on your side when it's time to fish or cut bait.

Glad he survived it, less glad he had to kill three people in the process.

No idea what they were after, but they really should have done a better job with the intel-gathering... I'm sure there were indication that this guy was not to be messed with all over the place.

How long was the response time for the cops? Ten minutes after the first call to 911? How long had the shooting been over?

Glad the guy was armed, even more glad he knew what to do. Very sorry he had to kill three miscreants.

That would result in a life sentence here.
Crime doesn't seem to go that well for robbers in gun controlled states.

Right. The tread is devoted to the notion that us good guys can fend off the bad guys by having our guns ready to defend us.
Us poor innocent good guys at the mercy of the bad guys.

My first impression was of the neighborhood. Not a wealthy neighborhood and not the home of a rich man. What could they have possibly wanted from in that house that would warrant five guys to get it? Certainly not much stealth.

And out front there were like 70 shell casings according to the news release. Seventy shots fired? Certainaly not all by the innocent home owner.

My suspicion is that this not so innocent homeowner knew these intruders and they him. He had something they wanted of value. Maybe drugs, maybe something of theirs. Maybe it was supposed to be a revenge attack. We don't know yet.

But to jump to the conclusion that this is one more example of innocent good guys defending themselves from a pack of lowlife bad guys just does not compute. Unless that is one is a Trump supporter and then I guess anything is what ever we want it to be.

Where's here? If you care to say, of course.

Life sentence for who? The two survivors, or the old guy who kicked ass and took names?

It seems that this is likely a fued between drug dealer and customers/thieves, but yeah I struggle with the mindset of some trump supporters they are somewhat deranged.

And certainly we do not have enough information to make a snap judgment on this case. However, some appear to have done so in pursuit of proof of their own beliefs.

Bad planning. Really bad.

If, as has been posited, it's criminal against criminal--no evidence of that so far as I know--it'll come out in the wash.

To be fair...I don't think the point is necessarily that the homeowner isn't also shady...just more that if five mother#ers show up to your house to cause trouble a gun is a good thing to have...there's a pretty good chance the homeowner is an equally shady person.

Further proof that responsible gun control thwarts crime:

1. Sight picture

2. Squeeze

3. Pop

4. NEXT

Good. To be fair. Though the intimation of the op was that a good guy defended himself from bad guys. No one calling the homeowner a bad guy on the first page or so. Just good guy and bad guy and he is alive because of his guns. That was the ''spin'' of the thread.

One could also make the case that bad guys killing bad guys is because guns are so easy go get, but I won't go there. As well, when bad guys kill bad guys with their guns there is no moralizing about that, we just turn the other way and say ''let em kill each other. That is I suppose.

Terrible. That homeowner was supposed to just leave the thieves steal his stuff and rape his wife and children. We have to back the criminals and take the guns out of the hands of good people.

How did you reach that conclusion, can you show me where anyone says the homeowner was in the wrong protecting his residence?

Maybe It was a bad attempt at Sarcasm on my part.
