I feel that Scotland should get patent money in all the great technological advancements we have helped in creating. I'm not Gona list as it's too big,
But if that happened we would be richest in the world.

I honestly can't abide Burns - i find it painful to read through (or listen to). Scotland has such a rich and interesting literary history and yet Burns is the go to guy. Doesn't make sense to me, literally like his was the first name out of the hat.

But then many feel the same about Shakespeare!

aye , I learned alot about Burns from my English teacher who was right into him and knew a lot about his personal life!
he wasnt the best , but I think he was propelled to fame , due to his anti establishment and anti gentry leanings at the time it wrung true with a lot of people in the working class !


I prefer Matt McGinn , more modern and easier to understand hahah !

and he was incredibly hilarious so funny that the Big Yin , Billy Connolly learned from him and then went into comedy as well

Haha that's funny, although stereotypical and wrong, this originated with Andrew Carnigie and Scrooge McDuck was based on him, but if you know about Carnegie then you know this is a false representation, Carnegie has been quoted as the second richest man in history behind Rockefeller.
The thing is Carnegie believed it wrong to hoard all his cash so in his later years he distributed all of it all over the world to the building of library's and art galleries and the likes, so you can imagine how his money went to educating this world, Legend.

aye its a common stereotype of scots that we are penny pinching frugalites!
Yet the trade hall in Glasgow paints a different picture, the members of the trade unions hall often donate their money to the trade members and charities set up by the trade halls , and many have donated sums more than 1 million pounds throughout Glasgows history to the poor and other groups in need in their will , also the NHS , and school of nurses, miners, labourers etc !
