So when I clean my home I like to play music from before my time.
It's very calming and gets me in the groove!
This thread will be very short as are all my other ones.
But I would like to get you the other "users" input on what gets you in the mood for doing stuffs.

So today I chose Charles Brown as my go to.
And I would love to get some info on your go to stuff and get some suggestions for my future use.

And please NO disco. Hate that stuff.

Here’s some old time music played by a bunch of old time iconic figures.

Good cleaning music 😆

I usually throw on some podcasts while walking the billiards table practicing drills. Sometimes I listen to an imagine dragons selection. Here is one I found recently and really enjoyed:

Hi.

There is so much older music that I like I am not sure where to start?

Perhaps Hiram King??? Yeah, why not. This is very old! I can sing and play Hank very well. He wrote so many beautiful Country Hymns. I have been to the utter depths of despair and as Leonard Cohen sang "Only drowning men could see Him", so I did. I can sing and play Leonard very well too. It is nice to relax sometimes singing these songs with my acoustic guitar. Here is Hank's "How Can You Refuse Him Now" and Leonard's "Suzanne",

Thanks for letting me share.

Well then, that request will be easy to fill.

Here is something a bit pensive yet very old..

Something popular in the 60’s ..

I'm only a few years older than you OP, but anything newer than the 90's is no better than a dying wild animal to my ears. Here's some of my personal favorites from the 70's and earlier

Older folks tend to do interesting things with their eyebrows when I mention I like Brubeck

Staple classic RV vacation music when I was a kid

One of my absolute favorites, and NOT thanks to the Drew Carey Show -- car radio growing up was tuned only to oldies

Zager & Evans had a time machine or something, I swear.

I don't dance. Except to this when nobody's looking.

Ok, maybe I dance to this one a little, too.

However, if I'm cleaning the house, (or if it's spring/summer & I'm out in the hammock with a beer) it's Harry Belfonte all the way.

Thank you for that 60s song. I just had memories flood back in from when I was a child. So peaceful.

Great choices!

I prefer to chill with Brubeck, preferably with a nice whisky on the rocks, myself.

I have loved Belafonte since I first heard him as a kid.

But, word of caution relevant to this thread:

Never, NEVER! try to paint (house, wall, etc.) to “Jump In” unless you’re in a full-body cover suit, or you want to spend days picking paint out of every exposed part of your body!

Voice of experience!

(Sure had fun painting that room, in record time too!)

It's all about Northern Soul lately. There's an A-Z of Northern Soul album and it's on play whenever jobs need doing.
