Here is a video from this past August where the Director of the Pentagon's AATIP program dispels several myths and gives a nice general overview of the program.

He strikes me as a sincere and impartial investigator, and a credible speaker overall.

AATIP was created in 2007 as AAWSAP (which evolved into AATIP in 2008) as a Bipartisan effort by Congress to determine whether UAP/UFO posed any sort of national security threat to the US

AATIP's mission was identification of unidentified aerospace (atmospheric and near-space) threats. The craziness ensues when people make the leap of logic from "UFO" to "flying saucers from beyond Saturn."

The one thing I didn't hear him clearly state is the AATIP charter had nothing to do with research into extraterrestrial technology. He purposefully and specifically omitted that for the following reason: nobody would ask him to speak at their convention because countering bad-guy technology is not nearly as compelling as little green men from Mars.

He's a good speaker, and he told the truth. But he's being purposefully vague not by what is said--but by what is unsaid. This tactic is right out of the USG Press Release Playbook.

Isn't he former CIA? Of course he'll sound sincere. It's part of his job.
