Trump cancels Davos trip for World Economic Forum due to gov't shutdown

President Donald Trump recently announced he would not make the trip to the Davos conference due to the ongoing partial government shutdown. On Thursday he announced that he was also canceling the trip for the rest of the U.S. delegation to the event. “Out of consideration for the 800,000 great American workers not receiving pay and to ensure his team can assist as needed, President Trump has canceled his Delegation’s trip to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a late Thursday statement.

There is NO reason that any leadership should leave the country since the shutdown. These are elected officials. No vacations. No time off. They need to run the country. Get this #e done.

This once again shows it is about our country and not optics and politics.

Why are they still living in the 20th century? Don't they know that they can use Skype if they need to "meet and discuss"? Private business has cut out this useless expenditure of resources, flying people all over the world to "talk."

I think Trump kind of lost sight of the fact that this is what people want.
Congress's approval ratings are abysmal as are most politicians these days. The vast majority of the world laughs and applauds when a slimy politician gets told to do their job in the most humiliating of ways.

He did not go far enough, though. He really should have left them on the runway with their bags thrown off the plane at their feet. The bus they travelled back on was also under his control.

Perhaps other nations don't want to transact, really, majorly important stuff over something so fallible and hackable (imagine a fake President selling out the country for the lulz).

If Trump is so 'clean', why isn't the vice President or the High Court judges or someone in government standing up for Trump's innocence?

Why would Trump hire 17 new lawyers to defend himself?

Why, with such a storm of accusations raining down, does Trump not exonerate himself clearly and unequivocally on at least one ground?

Makes sense that Trump should be flippant of the World Economic Forum in Davos. If you’ve heard the term “Davos Man”, then you know where the term comes from and who it represents.
