Recently Republican Rep. Steve King made some possible racist comments questioning why the terms white supremacist and white nationalist are considered bad.

This thread is not to argue whether or not this means he is racist, but suffice it to say I think these comments are really bad and should be called out and condemned.

But lately I have seen Kings comments being used by Democrats to try to imply this means all or many other Republicans are racist, or there policies are or they condone racism.

www.nytimes.com...

www.vox.com...

www.nytimes.com...

www.rollingstone.com...

And there are many more.

The problem with this is that once mo0re we see the strategy of calling opposition racist in order to not debate policy or differences (the wall is immoral and racist, right Pelosi?)

Meanwhile the Republicans have came out strongly condemning King, and even kicking him off all all committees.

And yet still, some of the 90% anti trump msm and Democrats persist in their smears of Republican means racism.

Meanwhile, how many Democrats that have palled around with anti white and semite leader Louis Farrakhan are given a pass by these very same people?

For example, former deputy head of the DNC, Keith Ellison, once worked for Farrakhans nation of Islam, which is a racist organization. Yet I dont recall any democrats on the bhill calling for him to step down from positions of leadership in the dmeocratic party.

Farrakhan, who brags "white people are goi9ng down" and likened Jews to termites a couple weeks before the Pittsburgh Synagogue shooting has been a public figure on the left for years, even setting next to Bill Clinton at a recent funeral.

Imagine if Trump or Republicans met with David Duke like this, whta the reaction would be.

Oh thats right, we dont have to imagine, because we saw how they went insane for Duke just mentioning he liked Trump, and demanded over and over again Trump denounce him.

And their were other Dems who met with Farrakhan, such as Obama, Maxine Waters, Barbara Lee, and more. Yet these people are at the highest levels of power in the Dem party, and not a peep is said by the Democrats.

My question is; if by the mere fact King said racist things means to some people Republicans are racist even if they condemn it, what do the dems hanging around with a known racist leader and no prominent dems condemning it say about them?

Not all republicans are racists, it’s just the preferred party of racists and white supremacists.

Not all Democrats are racists, it’s just the preferred party of racists and non-white supremacists.

At least the republicans called out racist on their party.

Where are the dems?

But yet it was the Democrats who founded the KKK, supported slavery and segregation.... even had a high ranking klan member as speaker of the house.

It's clear to anyone that the leftists are the most blatantly racist and hypocritical group in American politics.

The right is not innocent by any means, but the leftists are the proud standard bearers of racism.

And fought tooth and nail against the Civil Rights Act .

Al Gore's dad was a damn DIXIECRAT! Robert Byrd was Hillary's mentor!

Could you imagine if a Republican's father was a politician actively fighting against civil rights? You think they'd be elected to the Vice Presidency?

Maybe not all, but definitely most.

Yep, so we can start calling out the dmes for their hypocrisy and racism and stop pretending they have some moral high ground when they weoponize accusations of racism.

I would say that the majority of Republicans are not racist at all. But there are some racists in the Republican party. There are also some racists in the Democratic party. Congressmen have been groomed to watch their tongues though, using politically controlled language to hide their real beliefs. You can have bad thoughts, or get mad and think of inappropriate actions, it is only when you do these things that it is uncivil, sometimes illegal, or immoral. If they were to arrest people for saying things when they are mad or fired up, everyone would live in prison because everyone looses their cool sooner or later and says something inappropriate or bad. I know a few really good mellow Christians that have really good control, but even they loose their cool occasionally. The far right and left abuse this a lot, I am seeing Congressmen doing it or condemning others for things they actually do themselves just with a little different twist that makes it accepted in their minds and the minds of their followers. Politicians are good at hiding their true beliefs, they are just like us, we get mad and we say things we later regret. I would rather have them say what they really believe than sugarcoat a lie. Trump does not sugarcoat anything...that is why he gets into so much trouble on Twitter. Trump is no more racist than the vast majority of Americans, he just puts his foot in his mouth too often.

The problem is that it is way too easy to spin something out of context and to be labeled racist or whatever. This is a huge problem because it makes it hard for politicians and even everyday people to have any kind of dissenting view point or to question anything for fear of being unfairly branded.

The problem with the left is their memory goes back about 2 years at most... They truly live by the moment while ignoring their acts views etc even in the recent past.

Politic aside take Weinstein, In a group that was/is 95% hard left liberal he was one of their darling for decades on end. Every whos who invited him to their events took pictures with him knowing all that time that he wanted to screw everything he could. It was even an open joke to not date him because everyone knew out in the open what he wanted to do... Also take the joke of the REAL "casting couch" conservatives didn't invent that phrase...so on and so on, but today its like none of that happened as the left is now righteous.

When we look at the wall the left can't even fathom the thought that the same leadership fighting Trump today about the wall voted to make it happen a number of time and even as recently as 2016. I could post a dozen of videos of leadership on the left including Senators Obama, Clinton Biden etc all WANTING a wall. Hell the secure fence act of 2006 was to establish a very secured fence to the tune of about 50 billion.. Today they say it is immoral and their followers are like that's right!!

You can't make this crap up...lol

Conservative talk show host on Sirius, Andrew Wilkow says the left's short memory is the "Politics of now..." Their positions are based on what is convenient popular in the present... they ignore everything they've done up until that point.

I think people who don't like dogs should be booted from politics.
By the time were done the only people qualified will be blind, deaf mutes.

The big problem is that if you want to run for office, you basically will have to start planning from early on and ensure your life can be completely scrubbed of anything that could be taken out of context and used against you...

This is an unrealistic standard that none of us can live up to...

As a thought exercise, think back over your life through at least high school and what things you've done/said, etc that could be held against you in some manner.

The late Robert Byrd (D-WV) was Hillary Clinton's mentor in the senate. He was also an active Klansman, who recruited others to the group, and rose to the rank of "Exalted Cyclops."

I don't recall any Democrat ever calling him out for this. Even after he died, it was only one or two African-American congressmen who dared to bring up Byrd's past as a flaming racist.

There are also any number of black Democrats who have demonstrated bigoted attitudes against whites: Sheila Jackson Lee, Maxine Waters, and Al Greene just off the top of my head. Do you ever, ever, hear any Democrats calling them out on their racism?
