Does new rep Tlaib deserve $174000/yr.?

Pay scale for congress:

Do we want to pay one to hate our President? I say no, here is how to remove the haters:

There doesn't have to be a specific reason, but in the past expulsion has been used to punish House and Senate members who have committed a serious crime, abuse of their power or been "disloyal" to the United States.

wanting to purge everyone in gov't that doesn't like trump is more in line of what turkey, russia, saudi arabia, and the like would do and sounds quite unamerican to me!!

as far as how much these clowns are making, right now none of them should be getting a paycheck!! no the congress, not the president, not his administration!! if those working under them don't need a paycheck, they certainly don't either!!

She hasn't exactly hidden her views in the past and still was elected to represent her voter base.
So yeah, she deserves every perk the job entails.

On a side note, people bitch about the money these folks get paid. That's one thing I never complain about. If you want the best people possible doing an important job you need to have compensation equal to the qualifications of the applicant.

We need term limits but they still need a nice paycheck.

trump announce that the federal workers won't be getting a pay raise this year.
I think it was yesterday he said that the shutdown could last a year or two (lol... it won't but still he said it, still acting like all those federal workers would stand behind him the whole time)....
he thinks that it's nothing to think that federal workers will work without pay...
but.. Cabinet secretaries, deputy secretaries, top administrators and even Vice President Pence were scheduled to get a $10,000 pay raise going into effect today!!

I gave this thread a flag, no star, because it's so heartening to see so many Trump supporters defend Rep. Rashida Tlaib's right be disagreeable and offensive, as it is her constitutional right of free speech and expression!

I think congress should get paid an hourly wage dependant on the average income of their district.

I think every citizen in the country should be required to take a loyalty oath to the President, the ones who refuse can get an all inclusive vacation in the east.

That's exactly what's wrong with our Govt and why we get career politicians.

They should be seeking office out of a sense of duty, not for financial gain. If public service was more of a personal sacrifice, we might see higher quality people then the scum we've been getting.

They should be serving their term then going home to continue their career to provide for their families.

Not everybody thinks like you or wants the same things you do. The politicians that you think should be removed were elected by a whole lot of people who wanted them in power. And yes, these are people who do not want an isolationist US, who want to partner with the rest of the world, and who want things like universal health care such as they have in England and Canada.

She has every right to despise Trump. A lot of people do. A lot of people despised Obama... yet I didn't see you calling to remove them.
