UK foreign minister Hunt: Syria's Assad will be around for a while

"The British long-standing position is that we won't have lasting peace in Syria with that (Assad-led) regime, but regretfully, we do think he's going to be around for a while," Hunt told Sky News.

Nearly eight years into a war that has displaced millions of Syrians, Assad has recovered control of most of the country with support from Russia, Iran, and Iranian-backed Shi'ite Muslim groups such as Lebanon's Hezbollah.

--

Nearly eight years into a war that Americans,Western Countries had started through Regime Change and arm supplying to different Jihadist/Radical Syrian groups in Syria during 2013/2014. The conflict had displaced millions of Syrians and their families. The Syrian government through their allies have liberated much of the country with support of Russia.

Lebanon's Hezbollah are not Iranian but apparently Mainstream news media lies that they are Iranian-backed Shi'ite Muslim group. Apparently hunt seems to think that Syria wont have lasting peace with the Assad as its Government? why is that?

That is not an decision for Americans/British to decide its up to the Syrian people. Hunt seems to have forgotten how their Libyan puppet government isn't doing so great and hasn't being able to bring Libya to a lasting peace.

And yet somehow they believe that a puppet of theres in Syria will able to create lasting peace?

I will say the same thing here as I said to my partner after reading this earlier.

We had no business being there in the first place and we have no place there now. The gas attacks were questionable and we were there long before them.

Just leave them to it.

They just want to get rid of Assad so they can replace him with somone that will allow the gas line to built through it.. that's all this about. . Nothing more.

Sorry, but you are in danger of believing your own propaganda. Hezbollah are Shia a group supported by Iran e.g. financial, and the the support of weapons and training. The paramilitary wing has been involved in both Syria and Iraq, as well as in the various conflicts and politics of Lebanon et al.

Syria's a dictatorship run by Assad. The Syrian people have no say now or historically. Prior to this disastrous civil war Syria had one of the worst human rights records going and the civil war has been a convenient mask for the some terrible atrocities on both sides.

Just like how the west and Saudis support the Jihadist Syrian Rebel Groups no real difference.

The Syrian civil warn and uprising are all manufactured by the western governments they wanted to get rid of Assad and have replaced with a puppet whom would loyally to their cause in the region and someone who would wanted to get rid of the Russian Naval base in Syria.

That is what the Syrian uprising was all actual about.

You erroneously stated in the OP that Hezbollah was not Iranian supported. It is, and that is where I was correcting you. Hezbollah are a proxy of Iran and has been perpetuating conflict. Pleased to see you concede that your OP has a glaring error within it.

The oil pipeline gas line project that they wanted for Syria through Turkey/Saudis/EU is dead. That whole projected would have being very expensive for Europe.
