And it totally lacks the space for the fuel for long range ops. It also completely lacks the magazine depth needed.

Upgrading the F-22 only makes sense if they don’t see a future in manned platforms.
Maybe they’ll start with upgraded F-22’s & Loyalty Wingman then get out of the manned fighter business?
I have my doubts but this is the only logical conclusion I can draw at this point as to why they’d even consider that option.

RCS model of a top or bottom skin off something curvy...

It could be a pole cap too. I'm leaning towards it being a top or bottom skin as well, but the possibility of it being a pole cap can't be thrown out either.

Y'know. It almost looks like a baby B-21 beak.

I just hope this was a deliberate leak or "about to be public anyway soon, not worth the bother any more to hide it", rather than an "Oopsy! Forgot the tarp..." moment...

If it's part of an aircraft, it's only a partial skin. I'm thinking upper skin personally. That means that they're trying to get very specific information on RCS on something specific. Even having seen it, there's no possible way to tell what it's from. We can make a few educated guesses based on renderings, but there's no way to know for sure what we're looking at. Like I said earlier, it's also possible it's just a pole cap.

Could it not simply be a generic object for equipment calibration.

Makes sense: despite the huge advances in simulation software and sheer number crunching hardware, nothing beats testing in the real world for ultimate accuracy.
