I just love how Marketwatch is sharing this story as if Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a shining star for all of us to look up to.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is taking time off to avoid ‘burnout’ — and you should, too
Article

You’ve got to take care of yourself before you take on changing the world. That’s what New York congresswoman-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez told followers Tuesday on her social media pages when she announced that she was pressing pause for a few days after a whirlwind year of campaigning.

Gotta love MSM and Millennials asking for socialism in America.

By the way, Alexandria threatened Donald Jr. with "subpoena" power before even being in office (wow), said she can't even afford housing in DC, can't wait to be "inaugurated" and "sign bills"... and has proven that Twitter, Instagram, and other social media accounts are her best options for proving how knowledgeable she is (tehehe). Her interviews on TV have been equally entertaining.

I am trying to make light of the situation but in reality the support and fact that she will be in office makes me uneasy. Welcome to bizarro world!

I'm sure plenty of people will defend her, talk about how hard she has been working campaigning, etc. I'm sure she put in work in order to get elected, but people are acting like she is a "champion of the people" and someone we should all look up to, yet she doesn't even seem to understand our government processes, basic terminology or even the structure of our government. She also would likely crash the economy with her social programs if she were left in charge... but here we are!

I wish people would just face it and realize that gal just isn't up to par. Even if she is marginally attractive.

Politicians liked her are the reason why I went from voting libertarian to gop. They are so out of touch with reality that it’s scary to think about them having any power, much less a seat in Congress.

Why do you care, if she takes time off, during the Holidays after campaigning for a year? Seems trivial.

“Before the campaign, I used to practice yoga 3-4x a week, eat nutritiously, read and write for leisure. As soon as everything kicked up, that all went out the window,”

Sorry but I stopped reading after that....

I hate to commit whataboutism...... but let's do it anyway.

Trump. At the time the article was written. 150 days golfing out of 582 days in office. Taking a little time off is no big deal.

www.newsweek.com...

onald Trump’s arrival at the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia, Saturday morning marked 150 days of his 582 days in office that he’s spent at a golf club bearing his own name. That is a quarter of his time in office.

So far Trumps policies have the stock market plunging. He's crashing it.

You're scared of someone who might crash the economy while the orange cheetoh is doing exactly what you fear.

PS: Party doesn't matter, both are just different wings on the same bird.

If you read the OP, you should note that I mentioned multiple times how the MSM and certain demographics (notably millennials) are supporting this person and their political ideas without understanding how our political or economic systems function in reality

Isn't it always the case, a wanna be politician who pretends to speak for the people and wants equal treatment for all and then the moment they get a job in politics or are about to start said job they suddenly need a break. Or maybe this isn't a break, maybe the conspiracy part of my brain is suggesting that she is being taken to a special meeting with the NWO people to put her in her place and tell her how things really work lol.

The stock market is not the economy.
And the "crash" is mostly due tech companies issues like Facebook and Google...

Dude.

Work is hard.

Sometimes people expect you to do it 2, maybe 3 hours for 3 or 4 days in a row!

I mean, WTF, amirite?

congress is on break for the holidays wtf...
is this news because she says she's taking a break and the 'right' is butthurt for that?

i don't get it... is she taking additional time off after the break?

is this statement whats doing the triggering?

most of America is on a few days break...

maybe stick it to lazy students on winter breaks...

I’m taking a few days to take care of myself before what is sure to be an eventful term,” the congresswoman-elect wrote on Twitter.

You mean like more than 20 hours a week?

That sounds like SLAVERY

and slavery is problematic.

LOL Im beginning to think its just that generation. My daughter about two years ago finally found a job, LOL talked to her two weeks later and she was taking a few days off cause she was tired. LOL i wanted to go ballistic, but didnt and just told her dont do that chit when you got a new job, ie bust your ass make an impression. Basically welcome to adulthood where you are always tired LOL. She still has the job 2 years later, but really think that generation is just extremely self centered self absorbed LOL. Dont understand that a lot of people have it tough, and would love to take your job.

I can see it already:

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez - Everybody should get three work days in addition to weekends off, paid of course.
The hourly wage should be 35 an hour, with free healthcare, free college, free child care, free free free for everyone. But if you make over 100K, you are rich and should be taxed at 95%, and you don't qualify for anything free because you are rich.

Oh and
- ban guns, because guns cause all of our problems.
