Seven people have been arrested by Palestinian police and Israeli troops in connection with the suicide bombing outside a Tel Aviv nightclub on Friday. These include five men held by the Israeli soldiers, two of him are believed to be the brothers of the suicide bomber, and two by the Palestinian police. Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas has promised to punish the attackers.

It was the first attack since Israeli and Palestinian leaders agreed earlier this month to end violence.

"The Palestinian Authority will not stand silent in the face of this act of sabotage," Mr Abbas said in a statement after meeting security chiefs.

"We will follow and track down those responsible and they will be punished accordingly." Mr Abbas blamed a "third party" but went no further.

Other Palestinian officials have blamed Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant organisation.

It is good to see both Israel and Palestine seemingly working together to bring down those responsible for this cowardly act. It seems everytime one step forward is taken to create peace, someone will come along to ruin it creating two steps back.

Although all Palestinian militant groups have denied involvement in the bombing it could well turn out to be the opposite, causing more hate and allowing the rift to continue. Hopefully it'll not be the case although unfortunately would not be surprising.

Not being a Zionist in any way, Israel's last week good-will gesture of releasing 500 Palestinian prisoners, almost half belonging to the Fatah movement, displayed to the world their genuine willingness to reconcile in hopes of solidifying a peace, but once again a handful of jihadists had to show the world what they are all about,by intentionally sabotaging the truce for the rest of the Palestinians and their plight. With Arafat gone, now is the time for the Palestinian people to seize the moment by detecting, routing out,and eliminating the rogue elements of their own society & their cloaked sponsors whose intentional goal is to exacerbate the existing tensions at the peril of their own people. One thing is certain, sneaky suicide bombing of innocents brings world condemnation, and it is the jihadists & their supporters that are on the quickest path to extinction.

Well someone stepped up to the plate to take credit for another random sneak attack killing of unsuspecting people guilty of nothing more than simply having a peaceful & fun night out.No rest for the wicked I guess in their latest throwing down of the gauntlet, repelling more hearts & minds from their selfish cause.

Friday's bombing at a Tel Aviv nightclub killed four Israelis and dealt a heavy blow to peace hopes that had brightened since Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon agreed to a ceasefire at a Feb. 8 summit.

"We confirm that we carried out the operation," an official for Islamic Jihad in Lebanon, who declined to be named, told Reuters. The group's exiled leadership is primarily based in Damascus but also has a representative in Beirut.

Developing Story

Thats OK,with each malevolent random murder of innocent life they execute, their desperate voices of warped justification fall upon more & more deaf ears.In the end they might realize by pridefully proclaiming 'jihad' it is in fact declaring it on themselves.
