I was just sitting here watching t.v., eating some doughnuts and drinking a coke.

the above is a real quote from an ATS member - please do not google to attempt to back trace it - i am not attempting to make a thread critical of an individuals actions

BUT the quote is from an american - and the thread post makes implications

now - its a free world

there is nothing wrong with :

watching TV - i dont do it - but i do watch certain selected progs - via web based streaming

eating donuts - i dont eat donuts` either - i just dont like them - but i do eat copius amouts of chocolate on occassion

drinking coke - now i do drink coke - but never in the house - i alwasy has a can on hand - if i need a wet sugary ladened " pick me up "

BUT - the american propensity - fopr doing all three at once - is IMHO a big factor in the reason why americans have a lot of the problems they do

obesity - being one of the most obvious

does ANYONE really NEED donuts and coke to watch teeee - its not exactly a hard activity

I think the problem stems from MSM news, Hollywood, degrading and objectifying pop and rap music; and isn’t isolated to America but has taken hold of the entire Western culture.

No but they all taste better with a good movie - notice I didn't mean TV.

On a deeper level they release sugar highs and endorphines (movie/TV); a temporary escape from this reality.
Now this reality is not necessarily bad or good - just we need to get an escape outlet. Others may go abseiling, or physical activity.
