Yeah, and John Wayne Gacy was always a great children's entertainer as Pogo, but people always get caught up on that other stuff.

Again, Gunn didn't get shafted by people with no sense of humour. He got shafted by people who had just watched Roseanne get publicly flayed and fired (along with everyone else who worked on her show) for one tasteless, offensive tweet which she later apologised for numerous times. They saw it as a response to her having Republican views.

Personally, I think the whole situation with both of them, and all the other people who got caught up in the fauxtrage, was ludicrous and pathetic. To me it showed how hyper-partisan things have become.

I think the time is far overdue for everyone to stop focusing on what political party everyone belongs too, or assuming things based on which party they call themselves. Because I am pretty Liberal and I do not believe in gun control, and I also feel a comedian should be able to make fun of EVERYONE without having to apologize because its a minority or someone thinks it was mean. As long as the joke is poking fun and not being full out cruel.
