Ummm... the topic was how Canada spends its taxes. How exactly is talking about taxes off-topic? If my reply was off-topic then so was the comment I was replying to. Why no prize for the comment I was replying to?

Ironically you just stole the prize from me because you literally ignored the topic to say I was off-topic. Lol.

Wait, the state pays parents who divorce? Jesus God, your poor abused tax payers.

The state pays for low income families who have young children to support financially.

Otherwise, gay male couples would be fabulously wealthy in comparison.

It has to do with the responsibility to be unselfish, and to feed, clothe, insure, accommodate and educate the investment in the future that children represent.

Some sources for you information would be good.

Otherwise this is anecdotal.

Being specific will usually find your answers.

Boohoo!

I've been lucky to pay child support to my ex for 14 years
despite her being married twice and owning a multi-million dollar business.

Your kid has married twice ?
and runs a multi-million dollar business ?
fyi
How well off your ex. is is besides the point, your still 1/2
responsible for the CHILD! Grow-Up.

Every family gets the money. When they seperate the amount is
split in half to both parents.

NO, and NO.
The CHILD benefit is to benefit the CHILD in trust,
not for either of the parents.( meant for schooling, books ect.)
Only the legal-guardian who qualifies and has custody
of the child can apply and must be in the lower tax-bracket.
Evil it is to nefariously take your child's benefit for
your own benefit, shameful actually.

Where socialism borderlines communism, why we try to keep puke liberals out of office, liberals breed stupidity and divide, incapable of thinking on their own

You sound like a triggered liberal calling all conservatives nazis. Generalizations are stupid.

What's ironic is that you are saying the same exact thing that dozens of other members on here constantly say on a daily basis, yet others are the ones who can't think for themselves? You're part of a hivemind just like triggered liberals only you are a triggered conservative.

This is just an indicator of how desperate governments have become to get money off the little people.

Why? -more money for corporate welfare, (their rich mates)

In America, if the mother leaves the father and takes the children... not only does he pay her every dollar it costs to raise the kids- but if she decides to get a job at 9 an hour, he also has to pay the baby sitter at 13 an hour while she's at work.

Of course of the wench doesn't leave and decides to do her motherly duty of raising children with the father she chose, he only gets taxed at 30 percent up front plus 30 more on the other side.

Thanks, government!

The thing is in canada this can happen too....on top of what op is talking about.

So it would seem the logical solution would be to create a new government agency to control the funds. Neither parent gets the funds and when one of the parents presents a receipt related to care, feeding, clothing, housing of said child they get reimbursed.

In a socialist society, this even provides more jobs do more tax dollars can be funneled into the system.

The sad part of all this is that child support, in any country, rarely goes FULLY to the support and upbringing of the children. Most “parents” look at it as free money for them.

The ERA amendment probably would have prevented alot of what you are complaining about and things would be a tad bit better, but it was never passed. And, it wasn't just men who were against it, there were plenty of women also.
If there is inequality in the workplace (which there is) along with inequality in the home (women still seem to burden most of the day to day duties there) then, I am sorry, you are gonna end up seeing inequality in the courts when the family fractures. Because men still seem to gain worth in the employers eyes when they become fathers while women lose that worth even when they don't plan on having kids, well, the man's job will usually end up being more important, in the eyes of the man, in the eyes of his wife, and if things blow up, in the eyes of the courts. none of them really want to jeopardize the employment of the highest earner in the family, so it's the mom who ends up taking off work when the kids are sick at school, or the babysitter is sick, ect. And, why should the courts give the dad the main custody of the kids when it's been mom all along that's been giving them baths, nursing them back to health, helping them with their homework, and making sure they are getting good meals on a daily basis?
I agree, it's a crappy deal all around, and, hopefully as time goes by, the inequalities will diminish more and more. But, it will take the significant change in those areas I mentioned before the courts can change.

but, here in america, there are alot of dads that aren't making $13/hr so obviously, he ain't paying her every dollar it costs to raise her kids along with a $13/hr childcare cost!!!!!
it's bullcrap!!! child support payment is based on what his earnings are, if he makes little he pays little if he makes more, he pays more. the goal is to ensure that they all stay at about an equal living standard.

Says the country that pays $600 billion on killing people overseas.

I don't think America has any room to talk when it comes to where others' taxes go.

You're right, we should cut that down by at least half and stop defending all our allies. The other superpower countries would love it too. Then they could just snatch up other smaller countries resources without having to worry about the US coming to their defense.

You realize that America is the most guilty country when it comes to invading other countries and snatching up their resources? You have an opinion that seems to contradict reality, I'm sorry that you've fallen for the fearmongering propaganda being used by the MIC. Hopefully one day you'll realize that America's military is a blight on the world and has no business having the budget it has.

Each person in America spends over $2,000 per year just on our military. That is ridiculous when you consider the fact there are 325 million people living here. There is no good reason to spend that much on military, none of our enemies are even close to that budget, any other country that even comes close is our ally and even they aren't really close.

I work upwards of 160 hours every two weeks here in Canada my wife also works two jobs.
Between the two of us we make about 180k a year. We don’t want a basic life for our future children and I’d refuse to take from others while being more then capable of getting the life I want and deserve. I pay about 1600-1800 in income tax every two weeks.

The social systems in this country are so screwed. So many people in the bread line these days. Hell we give you money just for banging and having a kid! Why not get your crap together so you can actually afford to have one. Cant afford to have a kid? Too bad use a rubber or pull out then. If your so lazy pulling out is to much effort then don’t have kids.

My side job is at a grocery store we’re i make less then 1/3 my regular wages but every dollar helps and I see it at the end of every month and on the 20th when the child tax folks come in. They get to eat better then I do. They are often supremely entitled and ignorant. They enjoy their free slice of pie and have no desire to ever change or better themselves in my opinion. 250$(ish) per child per month can be lucrative, on top of your welfair.

I am not the father of these children but I do buy their diapers.

Maybe some people don't want to spend their entire lives working? Some people might want to actually enjoy the time they have here instead of spending it at work. Spending time with your kids is impossible when all you do is work. I would think spending quality time with your loved ones is a little more valuable than a paycheck but maybe that's just me.

Well the system wouldn’t work without people like me providing a means to allow people to even have the choice to have a family to begin with.

Some people don’t want to work at all, fine just don’t expect nice things or anything at all really.
Everyone wants somthing from nothing or from the work of others.

The things you speak of are all valueable things indeed. Things that should be earned not freely given.

This country is a giant mess and trust me when I tell you its not worth discussing with Americans because of their selfish logic.

Which country are you speaking of?

As another member state the child care issues in this country are FUBAR I mean seeiously broken. Its a very high risk proposition to have kids here.

Canada has one of the highest standards of living, and lowest infant mortality rates. Children education levels also quite high. These programs that are so heinous to some actually do good things for families. And for the betterment of society in general. I mean if Americans don't care about what happens to kids and whether or not they are clothed, fed and educated regardless of the wealth of the parents then they have an internal humanity problem and need not look any further.
