He gets a double Darwin award. At first they shot 1 arrow at him, and he had to return the next day....

I’d like to see his notes. Is there anywhere that gives them?

I don’t doubt the guy might have been trying to preach the Word, but the article only says that he may have been doing that.

Preaching the Truth is not necessarily safe, in fact it’s historically dangerous.

In Christ, if he was righteous, he will have everlasting life.

“Darwin award.” Also: “Leave these guys alone because they can’t defend against germs.” Lol.

So many people taking joy in this. Might end up strengthening others’ faith. Praise the Lord.
Are you willing to put your faith to the test?

This man's religion had nothing to do with his death. This tribe is generally hostile to all outsiders.

Fishermen who took the man to North Sentinel island say tribespeople shot him with arrows and left his body on the beach. He has been identified as John Allen Chau, a 27 year old from Alabama. Contact with the endangered Andaman tribes living in isolation from the world is illegal because of the risks to them from outside disease. Estimates say the Sentinelese, who are totally cut off from civilisation, number only between 50 and 150.

Maybe this will do some good and make a few other believers realize that mythical gods don't care enough to protect missionaries while trying to convert people.

Huge fail in the thought process, we see you have only one point to make.....you must be having trouble with it to talk about it

The thing I find crazy about this story is that the island is very well known both regionally and internationally. I traveled extensively in this area of the world and I can't even count how many times people mentioned it to me. I'm sure the local fishermen knew all about it too, and likely warned him numerous times.

These people don't screw around! They kill EVERY outsider who shows up on their island, no one gets a pass, and it's widely known and has been for centuries just about.

This dude definitely deserves the Darwin Award!

When I first read the headlines in the news about some dude getting offed by a tribe on some island, the first thing which popped into my head was this place, and I thought...I bet they killed him with arrows too. And sure enough, that was exactly what happened.

It's not like the place has been kept secret. We need to study these dudes and take some notes, they've got Border Protection down to an art!!

ETA - You apply for a visa to this island and they send you back a partially eaten ear with a note saying..."Sure! C'mon over!"

What a moron, and a missionary moron to boot. "I can be stoopid, cuz GAWD!"
If this sounds callous, too damn bad, but he got what he deserved. He knew not to go and more likely than not knew the history of the tribe. And he went anyway.
At least's he's one less source of the Idiot Gene in the pool.

For f's sake, people, awareness of this tribe's existence goes all the way back to at least Marco Polo. 800 years ago. 800 years of knowing they want nothing to do with the outside world and will get nasty to prove it.
They're not friendly, they don't care what you're selling, they gave at their own office, go away & stay away or you're taking a dirt nap courtesy of them.

Only one person has managed pleasant, non-violent contact with them, an anthropologist, and that was ONCE.

Only a fool too stupid for their own good continues to try to go where they're violently & explicitly not welcome. One anthropologist's modest success is not a green light for others to keep being retards.

Maybe he thought he'd become a martyr. A hero to the faith, bringing Jesus' message to the heathen.

Many missionaries do good work, however, sometimes you just gotta wonder about the others... Darwin, indeed.

I fail my faith’s tests constantly.
My faith does not fail my tests.

As far as this story goes, just for conversation, I wonder: What is “humanity?”

Why?

Do you want ME to test my faith and/or God?

Do YOU want to test my faith and/or God?

Or is it something else?

Praise and glory be to Jesus.
