Horrible Nightmare turns into Psychic experience?

Early last week I had a terrible terrible nightmare. I dreamt that my sister was telling me something horrible, I wasn't sure what it was
but I knew it was actually about her. It was just a simple dream with her talking to me and showing me some terrible news. I woke up in horrible sweat with a sinking feeling in my stomach. It was just like a scene out of the movies.

A little background: I have not talked or interacted with my sister for at least three years. We had a major falling out and just stopped talking to each other. I have absolutely no interaction with her and we live very far from each other in different states.

I felt horrible all morning of this dream, and eventually had to called our mom. I asked my mom if she heard anything about my sister. She didn't and we were both relieved. I went on and just brushed it off as a silly nightmare.

Well my mom calls me urgently last night. My sister was in a terrible car accident and has serious side effects. She didn't want to tell my mom to worry her, but it all happened right at the time I had the nightmare. My mom was in shock by both my dream and her accident.

I was leery to post this story here, as I know there are people that don't believe in things like this. For me it is just too much of a coincidence. I don't talk to a person for three year, barely even think about them, and then I have a massive terrible dream and it turns out something really horrible did happen. It's too much and I was shaken when I heard about it. Shaken that she is hurt, and shaken that I know there is more to our minds than what we can understand. I have a feeling that other people have had experiences like this but it is just not talked about a lot. It is very scary.

I don't know if this was psychic, clairvoyance, a guardian angel telling me something, I really don't know.

Call your sister! We can't pick our families and life is far to short to not be in touch. Even if you have to swallow your pride, do the right thing and reach out to her.

I will give it to you straight, no chaser.

It happens to people all the time, some more than others, some not about what has happened at the same moment but the future, in different ways. That is a very traumatic experiance to feel twice, especially since this bad incident broke your phycic cherry it will cause trauma & has scarred your mind. You will work through it, many do, some succumb to radical phycic beliefs & go crazy because you will be looking for any answer that makes you feel wholesome again & hold it tight for comfort. Usually it is more simple for peoples first time so they do not grasp for reality as hard as you will. You will either get use to it or fight it just searching for peoples approval & recommendations. Each person is different & it may not occur as periodically for you, you'll be alright man. Do not go insane about reality trying to find truth though. Eventually people almost forget, though the trauma stays. Do not let it travel to worse conspiracy thoughts just because in your mind now anything is possible. You will be alright man. Keep trucking. You should probably see your sister, that is what that connection should tell you.

I was dating a guy who was in Colorado for the summer. His sister had bright red hair. One night as I was falling asleep I had a sudden, crystal clear image of my boyfriend and his sister in his white truck sliding down a mountain and hitting trees on the way down.

Two hours later my boyfriend called me. He and his best friend had been in his truck that night and skidded off the mountain road into the trees and heading down the steep slope. His friend had bright red hair.

Happens frequently. The day my aunt died she appeared to my mother in a dream and said, "I just thought I would say good bye."

It's not uncommon at all. Please reach out to your Sister and try to make amends. Family is important and you don't want to live with regrets if anything bad should happen in the future.

I am so sorry to hear that she has suffered serious side affects. Be there for her in whatever way that you can. I wish you and your family all the best.

I can honestly recall four occasions where this ‘premonition’ has occurred for me and every single time my premonition turned out to be very very accurate.
Always in a lucid dream, just like yours.

All of mine were about events that took place far from where I am, in different parts of the world and involved strangers.
But all four were headline news articles within days of my premonitions.
The first time it happened was a big struggle for me to come to terms with. I couldn’t understand how I had ‘seen’ this event as though I was there and so clearly that even now I can recall it as though it was reality.
I am very thankful I got to experience such a thing. I often try to ask the universe to show me more but I haven’t had the experience for maybe five or so years now.
To me it felt like the collective consciousness of us all was available for viewing for a moment. I can’t explain how the consciousness could project the experience from the near future but it made me wonder about the validity of prophets like Baba Vanga and Edgar Cayce.
Again, I am extremely grateful that I got to see first hand that there is more to the universe than we currently understand and that these ‘psychic’ experiences do indeed exist.

Once more , I’m very sorry to hear about your sister. F#ck your ‘falling out’. Go and see her. Just turn up and give her a hug. Do you remember that little girl you grew up with? That’s still her. You know you love her. You make the hard first step and bridge that void. Don’t wait until tomorrow, drop your life and get in the car today.

It sounds like your spirit had something to impart to you, and thus chose to do so in your dream state when you were most open.

Dont be afraid either, if you dont want it to happen again, it wont. We usually have to invite them in, although in some rare instances they choose to tell us something of importance regardless of our belief.

I didn't want to focus on the falling out part, but more of the dream part-reality part, but for those that are curious

The problem is that she is indeed still that little girl I grew up with. It has taken me decades, many many decades to realize that I really do not like this person (actually can't stand) even though she is indeed my blood. Sometimes it isn't as simple as saying let bygones be bygones. There is way too much history. I actually feel like my life is better without her in it, I'd rather my family not be exposed to her and her toxic family (cult like) Yes I will always love her and will be connected by sisterhood, but as an adult i've come to accept that it is OK to let go of some people.

I had a dream long a go where my mother and myself had gone over a cliff in a car, we both died and floated up together seeing all of the Family standing at the top grieving.
My Mother and I were not close and also had not seen each other for many years, nothing came of this dream she didn't die and i didn't die maybe we will die at the same time eventually who knows we are old and ancient

So... your spiritual side, for some reason, was receptive about your estranged Sisters' distress, ill health...from a distance in both time & place...

you convey the idea that you were not overly sensitive or even remotely concerned about your sister & her family's chosen path and that the dream was not a priority message directed to You... or anything like that ...


all i can point out is that the crisis moment of the accident, it appears your sis, projected her psyche into your sub-conscious in the form of a dream---> but could not describe the crisis/trauma event as you said in the OP:

you & your sister might just be more connected than you wish to be... perhaps she was involuntarily reaching-out but didn't have the words to alert you that her side effects might just develop in you eventually... just making a wild guess !

I doubt that you would have been allowed to see this psychic dream unless there was a real true to life reason to bring you into it. It fits the description of psychic dream to me anyways.
My guess is it is a chance to heal something in yourself. To be forgiven you must also forgive. Something of that nature perhaps, but whatever you do is your choice of course. Anyone can be changed and see their own light. I hope it works out and she gets better.

So, as you’ve discovered, you’re not alone there.

Regarding your estranged sister, my sympathies and hope for a swift and complete recovery.

Not giving advice here, just a slightly different perspective to possibly consider:

Major life traumas can radically change a person’s attitude and beliefs, although such changes can take time to develop.

So, instead of encouraging you to reach out to your sister, perhaps that dream was the result of your sister, at a moment of extremis, reaching out to you?

Perhaps she finally, when faced with an overwhelming situation, recognized in you something, some strength, she desperately needed, and may still need.

I'm interested about what it was that she said to you in your dream and why, perhaps that may hold the key to something beyond even the display of clairvoyance.
Like there may be more to the dream, not just the "what" but the "why" as well.
This is such a rare event, why would you be so psychically connected to your estranged sisters accident if that's all there was to it?

Or, it could to help validate to those the OP has relationships with on here that such phenomena can take place. The sister was just the source. It is hard to know.
