U.C. Berkeley Student Senator Told to Resign After Abstaining From Pro-LGBTQ Vote

(CNSNews.com) -- A Christian student senator at the University of California-Berkeley is facing pressure from her peers to resign from the Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC), the school’s officially recognized student organization, because she abstained from an Oct. 31 vote about the legal definition of gender.

Isabella Chow, a junior, abstained from an ASUC resolution that opposed the “Trump administration’s proposed definition of sex under Title IX.”

“I cannot vote for this bill without compromising my values and my responsibility to the community that elected me to represent them,” Chow wrote in a statement on Facebook. “As a Christian, I personally do believe that certain acts and lifestyles conflict with what is good, right, and true. I believe that God created male and female at the beginning of time, and designed sex for marriage between one man and one woman.”

Many of Chow’s peers were angered by her refusal to vote in favor of the resolution. The Queer Alliance Resource Center at U.C. Berkeley created a petition calling for her resignation. CalTV released a statement condemning her. Her own political party, Student Action, disaffiliated with her.

Isabella Chow did not agree with some clauses in the bill because she would have had to promote the pro-LGBTO lifestyle, and because she holds her own religious beliefs, and doesn't think she should be forced to "promote pro-LGBTO lifestyle." Because she made her own decision on what to believe this student Senator was labeled "homophobic" and "transphobic," and has been "demanded to resign" for holding her own beliefs.

This is what the U.S. has been turned into, and it is not the only case in which Christians are being attacked meanwhile people of other religions who hold similar, or worse beliefs about the LGBTO lifestyle are being given a green light.

Here is another case in which two Christian film makers are being forced to film same sex weddings, even though they disagree with this lifestyle.

Are Muslims who don't agree with the LGBTO lifestyle being forced like this? As far as i know they are not, but Christians are being attacked left and right. This is not about "hatred," but rather the fact that people have a right to agree or disagree with other people's lifestyles.

Should left-wingers be forced to uphold Christian beliefs? No, and neither should Christians be forced to uphold LGBTO beliefs. People have a right to their own opinion, and having your own opinion does not equal to "hatred."

Although I fall into the LGBTQ category, I've never considered it part of my identity or supported it as a movement for reasons exactly like this. They aren't about acceptance and haven't been for a long while. Why can't we add an S in there for straight, too? You know... Just be people...

Anyone who wants or tries to be a "position" at anything should resign, period. I don't care about views or programming or tribal mentality or fake beliefs that these actors then try to express as real. Just stop already. Anyone aspiring to be something. STOP. ENOUGH.

With all of those letters, LGBT.... where is their inclusion for the Heterosexuals.

Where is the inclusion for the other 97% of humanity.

Currently, according to HuffPo, it is LGBTQQIP2SAA.

I think it should be HLGBTQQIP2SAA so we are all included.
