Brenda Snipes submits her resignation as Broward elections supervisor

Just hours after finishing a tumultuous election recount on Sunday, Broward Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes submitted her resignation.

“It is true. She did send it,” said Burnadette Norris-Weeks, an attorney who works as counsel to the Supervisor of Elections Office.

Evelyn Perez-Verdia, a former office spokeswoman who left several years ago, said Sunday evening she was told by people in the office that the letter was sent “to Tallahassee” earlier in the day.

Norris-Weeks said she saw an early draft of the letter. In the version she saw, she said Snipes, 75, expressed a desire to spend more time with her family.

About damn time.

Her resignation is not going to save her from prosecution. I am curious if she would turn on other Democrats in other states regarding the ballot counts. Florida's corruption is too organized for it to be restricted to just Florida.

Other states have seen Democrats win solely based on the absentee ballots / finding ballots after the election that were overlooked etc.

Further she must be prosecuted. Allowing her to resign while not doing anything else is not going to fly anymore with the people.

Hopefully she will flip on other people in other states who pulled the same ballot counting stunt she did.

Just my opinion, but I think Brenda Snipes epitomizes the corruption rife within our political system.

The title should read:

"The worst employee in world history quits... "

Lets put it this way. Enough evidence is there to allow Federal prosecutors to investigate. Not to mention she ignored 2 court orders and failed to comply with Florida / Federal election laws regarding ballots, ballot counts, board of canvassers etc..

That will save her from any sort of criminal prosecution.

At least that's the assumption, I'm sure.

Can we try to keep it civil and on topic? Politics brings out the worst in all of us but there is no reason we cant put it in check and maybe learn something from each other.

I agree, I think the whole system is corrupt. We have to start somewhere, eventually.

Its fairly astounding to me that people will still defend her... she is either criminally negligent, or criminally corrupt.

But I guess some are not capable of shaking the defend your team at all cost.
