It was the other way around, some soldiers were learning a minimum of French to get around

Another detail that may escape younger viewers :
a lot of the german soldiers that poured in to Paris
we're originally from the recently annexed eastern region of France
(Alsace, Lorraine...)

Which means that French was their mother language...

2) Trump is fixing the VA (action)
3) Trump personally has donated his salary to veterans groups on more than one occasion (action)
4) Trump enacted the forever GI Bill (action)
5) Trump has pushed reform to benefits appeal and it should be signed soon (action)

Meanwhile you're mad he didn't show up for a photo op ceremony (words). Look, I'm not pleased with him not going. I don't like it one bit. But there's one thing consistent about trump, he supports the veteran community. If he skipped one or two of these things it was because he had to. As we found out after the fact with the helicopter debacle. It was a 2.5 hour drive to the ceremony and the secret service told him he shouldn't due to multiple factors, including a recent attempt on Macron by terrorists.

Trump did attend veterans events in France including another ceremony at a different cemetery. Trump did arlington last year, didn't he? You guys are making a mountain out of a molehill for some cheap political points. It's dumb, and transparent.

Also, pence didn't go to Arlington. Do you think he doesn't care about veterans as well?

It’s amazing to see just how far the right has sunk. I remember a time when placing the wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier was a big deal. Didn’t matter who was the president was.
