Here's the whole headline.

"Michelle Obama: ‘I stopped even trying to smile’ during Trump’s inauguration"

I put this in people and not the mud pit.
Mostly because I dont want to attack her as much as discuss etiquette.

Trump catches a lot of flak for being a divisive president and he earns that label sometimes, no denying that. But from this article it seems that Michelle obama wasnt exactly pleasant on inauguration day. I'm pretty good at reading people while I'm talking to them and gotta wonder if the trumps caught her vibe. I think I would have.

Michelle was always portrayed as a gracious woman by the media but after reading her own words I have to question that image.

So this brings up a question for all of you.
Should she be acting this way?
Or should she be sugar coating her feelings?

I cant imagine shes the first person leaving the white house with ill will towards the incoming elect but I dont recall it ever being talked about.
The bushes and Clinton's left with a smile.

Well obviously in prior elections it was easy to smile and be gracious. Insiders were always being elected so they knew it will be politics as usual. President Trump was not part of the plan and would not be manipulated to follow the given agenda.

The only real smiles I noticed on inauguration day was from the males...Obama, Bush, and Clinton watched Melania come down to take her seat. The females did not look happy then and continued to be sour as Trump came down.

Be that as it may be, etiquette does seem to have taken a backseat for those who demand you should be pc. It is only expected of those that agree, no considerations for those who are not on the correct team.

People who matter don't care what Michelle Obama thinks. I'm sure it wasn't easy for her and Barack to admit that their failing ideology and policies led to that very moment. Add in the fact that they lost to a man who called her husband a fraud, I'm sure she was absolutely beside herself.

She's always been an America hating racist scumbag. After 8 years of her husband's administration's efforts at subverting our Constitution, their plans were ruined by Trump and freedom loving Americans.

And she was forced to sit there and watch a white man retake the white house, of course she was miserable. And that warms the cockles of my heart.

To your questions.

The actions and behavior of the members of the Obama administration have been unprecedented in their attempts at subversion, slander and trying to undermine the current president.

It's disgusting and shows their true colors, they're petulant children pouting and throwing temper tantrums because they're no longer getting their way. And all the plans and corruption they put in place is being exposed.

I agree with your views on Michele but you would think that she would fake it better.
This just feels like the flood gates will open in the future.

Do you really think her disdain had anything to do with his skin color? After all, he tried to destroy her family by promoting a senseless, unsubstantiated lie. And many people felt the same disdain, for a variety of reasons.

Not everybody thinks in terms of black and white.

Yes, she's a racist. And racists always make it about race.

So the current first Lady wears coats with 'I don't care slogan " is regarded as" gracious " but an opposite party doesn't' smile' and she is regarded as vicious...

The clutching and the exaggeration and hyperbole are getting tiresome even for the mentalists on ats.

Give it a rest. Try again to find some faults..

She's been acting for the past 8/10 years..... as it's not her natural profession

it must be very hard for her to keep it up for very long!

However she's going to be making a lot of noise and interviews for a while ........

SHE's GOT A BOOK TO SELL

She should have been gracious and had manners and just sucked it up. Sore loser. All she had to do was be gracious for one damn day.

Every time the left open their mouths, they ruin it for themselves.

This is petty. And we all know it.

There was a reason I didn't post this in the mud pit.
I wasnt attacking the woman.
I wasnt looking for flaws.
I just want to know what people think will happen down the line as she breaks the traditional behavior of an outgoing administration.

I didn't know that smiling equals etiquette. But I know, ladies are prettier when they smile.

Melania Trump rarely smiles. Seems she wasn't trying too hard to smile either, at her husbands inauguration.

We get more official pouts from the current first lady than smiles.

When 2024 rolls around you can judge her behavior in the presidential handoff.
I'm asking about all the previous first ladies.

What "behavior"? Failing to fake smiles?

Everyone is behaving badly in this inauguration day photo!

Never before have so many 1st ladies criticized a new president, especially those of the their own party!

Laura Bush Wrote An Op-Ed Criticizing the Trump Administration’s Family Separation Policy www.yahoo.com...

Every living first lady has now spoken out against Trump's 'zero tolerance' policy separating families at the border www.businessinsider.com...

Then, there this picture of course, at the formal White House "hand off".

Definately not at a funeral, or at a serious event like an inauguration!!

Constant smiling all the time can appear vacuous.

I think her behavior was much different than other first ladies.
The others that you pointed out are critical of actual policies or events.
Obama was acting poorly before trump even stepped into the oval office.
