You do realize that Obamacare is the most overt Textbook Fascism policy like ever. You do realize that right?

Personally I loathe ACA. The ACA has personally cost me about 10,000 USD in the last year whereas before it existed I would have spent around 1,000 USD.

What the ACA does is puts the burden of health care costs on the insured and not the insurers. It was written for the good of insurance companies and not the citizen.

Unless of course you can't afford insurance at all and they you pay a measly fine each year. So yeah, then it's great.

As always, the DNC strives to F over the working class. And they do a damn good job of it. It is amazing that ANYONE votes for any of them.

Also, I do blame the RNC as they could have gotten rid of this national albatross (rhyme of the ancient mariner for those that don't understand that analogy) around our collective necks but they didn't did they? No, they didn't because they also are in the pockets of insurance corporations.

I find this post fascinating. I don't remember seeing a single political ad or news article saying vote to save Obamacare. I don't remember seeing either side say they were for it or against it.

And how do you plan to bolster the funds in Medicare?
I would think they should be in Medicare 2.0, or Medicaid.....let's not screw over the seniors and others on Medicare

Finally, even the republican senate and Trump himself understands the American people want at least Obamacare and actually a better more improved one.

I commend the victory of the American people

Until it comes time to pay for it. And the wealthy move their capital over seas. Then what? Venezuela here.

Or, you know, Austria, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Germany, UK, Canada, etc etc etc.

Folks always use Venezuela to point out how bad they think it'll be. What about the dozens of other countries that use it successfully? Just glossed over. "But but but, Venezuela!" Stop being so negative, look at the countries where it's working just fine. We, as a country, could easily implement it. But a lot of people are against it. "It ain't Murican!" Who cares. It's a good idea, that dozens of countries have implemented successfully. If you don't think America could as well, then you don't think America is as good of a country as the others.

Why is our tax money being spent on our healthcare a bad thing?

The fact that you have to ask that is a problem.

Should tax money be spent on my personal food? Should it be spend on my shaving supplies? Should it be spent on my car's tires? Should it be spent on building my home (which, coincidentally enough, all of these are taxed and cost more because of the government).

Yes, SOME minimal tax money should be spent to help the helpless, but it should not have been done like the PPACA.

What we should be doing is taking both government and health insurance companies out of the equation and reducing the costs that way, saving said minimal tax dollars for those who absolutely need it, not just because it might mean the difference between paying the cable and cell phone bills for the next couple months.

The abuse of our taxpaying citizenry by our government has been out of control for a long time--the PPACA just intensified it even more, and another other increases in spending would be more abuse. More of my tax dollars go to healthcare now, but I still spend more in premiums and co-pays, too.

I call that a lose-lose, and many people are in my same position.

I love when you socialists compare the U.S. to smaller nation states. It's always charming. God bless your heart.

Yes you are the definition of a bleeding heart liberal led solely by compassion and no logic.

Dont ever put your shoes in a leadership position where you might have to make a tough decision to help many while some might get left behind

Problem with liberals like you can be summed up like this.

Ship sinks and there is a life raft that can hold 20 people.

Liberals will ignore the max capacity and continue to load the boat. Eventually capsizing the boat, drowning everyone.

In Greece and Italy small towns for the last 100 years were barely getting by.
They had just enough resources, jobs, and food.

Bleeding heart liberals say well you need to take in some refugees out of compassion.

Well ignoring important things like overpopulation, lack of resources. And lack of jobs completely destroyed these small towns.

The people lost their businesses and cannot send their children to school.

You mean well, but you are very naive.
Join the peace corps.

Same with health care, there are too many people in the u.s. who will never care one second about their health or pay one penny towards health care.

There are more people who want to use taxed based services then there are who pay to keep those services running.

There are many like you who would work harder and pay more for those who give zero back to society.

I could go on

There are more people who drive on Americans roads and bridges then there are those who pay for their maintenance.

Results are a first world nation with outdated infrastructure. Poor subways, dangerous drinking water pipes.

Schools in NYC have an average of 5 kids in a classroom of 26 that have parents who contribute to school tax.

This causes school tax to constantly rise.

You might want to re evaluate your thinking.
Reality doesnt work with everyone receiving from taxes

Might work in candy land,

I will remind you then.

Republicans were against it

Liberals and the media could not criticize anything Osama did. So they loved it.

Then Obama says , dont worry you can keep your physician. It was A bold face lie. But hard to judge .

Overall it made those who did pay for health care to pay a lot more, so their money could be used to provide care for those who never have or never cared one second about their health.

Take from the workers, give to the ?

I always say when there are no more homeless, jobless, people without health care, the environment is saved, and severe poverty is wiped out, as humans have the capacity to do now, I might just become a conservative.

I’m a practical and humanitarian liberal. I am for the death penalty for murderers, for more severe criminal penalties against rapists, and crimes against people and not crazy about abortion and free love, though I am 100 percent for LGBT rights, though do not accept forcing people to do something against their religion, also I’m am NOT for open borders.

But when it comes to helping and assisting human beings I am proudly a liberal

And the recent 10 year battle by conservative Republicans in the courts and in the Congress where they tried to get rid of not only Obamacare but its vital elements such as protections for pre-existing conditions, thank God is over!

And like when the conservatives fought Social Security, unemployment insurance, and child labor laws, all liberal plans to progress society forward, universal Health insurance for ALL Americans is now closer to realization. Of course no thanks to the Republican Party

All thanks are to the members of the US Senate and Congress and the people who fought and defeated the effort to defeat the humane and needed cause of universal health insurance.

Finally, even the republican senate and Trump himself understands the American people want at least Obamacare and actually a better more improved one.

I commend the victory of the American people

You are only years away from becoming a libertarian.... please keep using your head as you have through at least half of your OP...

I support your transformation.

It’s crazy, for sure. Something could be done to reduce housing and health care costs. Something that works for both parties would be nice.

Is there any way we could just do like a national opt-in system for all these people that want a universal system paid for by taxes? Like, you can opt in to pay more taxes and be enrolled in the system...but it's not mandatory... maybe then we could actually get some answers as to whether or not healthcare via taxes is sustainable in the US...

Of course most people want government paid for or subsidized health care. That was never in doubt.

The problem is we can't afford it, and nothing about that has changed.
