Acosta was also doing his job. It seems that practicing journalism, these days, has become an act of "civil disobedience".

All acosta had to do was simply give the lady the mic.

Guess that was too much to ask for?
IMO that is ALL acosta did wrong.

Yep.

But he decided he was special and deserved another question.

Funny that nobody is talking about the fact that Trump actually called on him to ask a question. They're just saying that Trump was avoiding a question. Everyone knows what Acosta is all about and if Trump wanted to avoid a question he would not have called on him.

Yet here you are giving Trump a pass but not Acosta. You can't say anything about someone still supporting our liking Acosta after this, you support Trump despite him doing something far worse.

You honestly have no room to be in this thread saying what you're saying because it just makes you look like a huge hypocrite considering Trump's past.

I haven't posted ANYTHING about trump in this thread.
You are a pitiful liar.
You have no honesty and have demonstrated such.

IMO trump showed his ass, had acosta any self control that would be the only subject for discussion.

I've seen the close up and the normal video.
What gets me though is he got in a row with the head of state.
That's serious stuff. It would be a bit like Kirsty Wark of the BBC being rude to the Queen, no way in hell would she be allowed back in the palace.
This is the same, only worse, because your head of state is elected, so his position carries more authority and, just his actions showed Acosta didn't have any empathy for the poor woman trying to restore a bit of order, which marks him out as a massive douche in my book.

Simple common sense says Watson is telling the truth, the video was simply zoomed in and uploaded three different times which causes compression and slightly modified the video.

Common sense tells me not to believe anything Paul Joseph Watson says, given his past antics.

Good thing we can play them side by side and see they are virtually identical.

‘A lie’: Watch slow motion video of CNN’s Jim Acosta prove White House staffer touched him four times www.rawstory.com...

If you watch the video, the young woman marches up and snatches at the microphone while Acosta is midsentence, without consent and before any order for him to surrender the microphone. Technically, snatching an object that is acting as an extension to a person, like the microphone was to Acosta, is assault.

Battery is the actual physical contact, whereas assault is not technically physical contact. It could be physical contact, or it could merely be the threat of physical contact, so if someone was holding a phone in their hand, and another person slapped the phone out of their hand or snatched it away from them, it would be considered an assault because it was physical contact.

Like what? He is infinitely more responsible than Jones.

You do realize refusing to watch the video because you dislike the creator of it does not make it invalid right?

If you are truly going to call him a lying hoax creator and spread this opinion you owe it to him to see his rebuttal.

In the U.S., there's a traditional irreverence for political leaders, even (and arguably especially) the President. There is also constitutional protection for freedom of the press, with (thankfully) liberal interpretations of that protection provided by the courts. So no worries there.

Missing from the Constitution, however, is the right for non-Presidents to hog microphones, grandstand and deliver speeches during presidential press conferences.

Jim Acosta is not a journalist, but a self-congratulatory, pompous-assed drama queen whose claim to fame is drawing attention away from actual news and toward himself.

There's enough of that in the media already and, apparently, too much in the White House press room for the President's liking.

So be it.

The microphone is not his. My understanding is he was asked twice to surrender property that was not his. He refused.

ETA: I just watched the full video, she made several attempts to retrieve the microphone that was NOT his, he refused to give it up.

I get that, though the fact remains that once he is elected, he is the president of all Americans and as such, commands some respect off supposedly professional people.
That's not to say he shouldn't be questioned about stuff, they all should, but it seems to me that there is a portion of the press that would find something wrong with whatever he did and while they are entitled to do that, they also have a responsibility to pass the mic on when the president has batted aside their attack on him.

"Your understanding" isn't documented in the video. Trump tells Acosta to put down the microphone for the first time, after the staffer's attempt is abandoned.

Trump clearly says that is enough and signals to move on. Acosta keeps going. Aide comes in. Acosta refuses to give up the microphone. If you are trying to say Trump never made the attempt to move on from Acosta then your claim is flat out fake news.

So president who loves to say Fake News has a staff that uses a faked video. hehe

The guy already hurt his own cause with the action shown in the actual video.

How fake has politics become.

The 'fake' video is not fake. Fake news lied and said it was fake. It has been put side by side with the original video and it is near identical.

Just more fake news from CNN. So why don't you have a problem with CNN lying like this?

Yes, so why do they all say that when it clearly is not? One being fooled ... maybe. But the sheer number saying this is indicative of a coordinated attack by the Press to push fake news on purpose. Here they are side by side. How much of a difference do you see?
