Thank you. That's much better. Hey - what if it's made of tungsten? Epic doom!

If it's Tungsten then it's late. Fireworks were last week.

Frankly, it would need holding to account. These asteroids today really aren't as punctual as they should be, lazing around the outer Solar System with their hands in their pockets.......

If there was concern about them hitting earth the people would never be told. There is no room for them in the bunkers that the elite and politicians have built for themselves with your money.

IMO it's not dangerously close until it skims atmo.

Imagine if that bugger skimmed your head..!

oooOOOER!

Does it count as a full proper skim if it doesn't complete 2 full skims off the surface? I'm sure the World Stone Skimming Association will have some guidelines on this.......

Does a hair skim count?

They really are not that close to earth to be of much of a concern. Unless they bump into each other and bounce, but that is not really expected at all.

22 this july for me. A near miss wouldn't even phase her and I.

Do we know when and if these buggers come around again? What year and distance?

Yes that isnt close at all and zero threat. The moon is 252,088 miles away. Anything in that range i would consider close.

The third one will pass 237,000 miles from Earth about 6.30 Saturday evening.

Asteroid 2018 VX1 is the smallest of the three asteroids but will also come closest to the planet – closer than the Moon. At about 6.21pm GMT, Asteroid VX1 will close the distance between itself and the Earth to 0.99 LD or 0.00255au.

Note that a ‘close’ passage astronomically can be very far away in human terms NASA This is the equivalent of just 237,037 miles (381,474 km). In astronomical terms, this is an incredibly close brush and warrants interest from NASA’s asteroid trackers.

Does this help. Its not even in same orbit it is actually above us and zero chance of hitting.

Not sayin it will hit just that it is within Lunar distance.
