Do prison guards ever kill prisoners and make it look like it was a suicide?

Do prison guards ever kill prisoners and make it look like it was a suicide, to cover up what's actually a murder?

Or how exactly do these prisoners end up killing themselves in prison?

Like what can they use to pull it off in the first place?

You can at least tell that prison is a dangerous place to end up in.

Many people have committed suicide in jails around the world, some while awaiting trial for extremely heinous crimes. Fred West is one that springs to mind. It only requires a simple item. Some shoe laces perhaps, or a bed sheet, perhaps a plastic bag, or a razor blade.

It's not that hard to do if you really want to do it.

Can it happen? Yes but let’s think about this if someone is in general population they aren’t alone with guards often and these days nearly everything in prison is recorded so doing this isn’t nearly as easy as you’d think.

Of which none are allowed in prison.
Well the sheet is. They are supposed to be made in a manner to prevent suicide.

All of those items are readily available in prison

Of course it happens, but I feel like a lot people in jail are there because of undiagnosed & untreated mental illness.

British jails seem to be full of drugs and mobile phones, they are banned too. Some inmates apparently manage to obtain fast food deliveries too. Don't ask me how except the first two. They are usually smuggled internally apparently. Euw...

Yep and convicts would never break those rules, and contraband is never found inside the cells.

All of which are allowed in most prisons. Prisoners use razors to shave. Plenty of prisons issue tennis shoes or boots with shoelaces in them. Food still comes with plastic on it because of health and sanitation reasons. Some facilities don't allow razors at all, some facilities only issue flip-flops. But to say all of it is banned in all prisons is incorrect.

And then there's the fact that prisoners have all day, every day, for months or years on end, to turn their toothbrush into a shiv or shank.

Trying to act like it's some sort of nearly impossible feat to either get a hold of something that can be used as a weapon or turn something utterly common into a weapon is just silly.

Considering there may be two guards for a minimum of fifty inmates or more doubtful unless the guard in question was complicit by turning a blind eye to an assault in progress or perhaps due to positional asphyxiation while the prisoner is being secured and lastly by ignoring his or her rounds (cell checks).

Depending on the prison I'm sure a lot of guards are intimidated by the many gangs thst are in prisons and as a result they may be threatened and have to look away.

On the other hand do they bring in cellphones, drugs and other contraband, absolutely. As a result of the contraband people may in fact get killed.

Sure but in most cases I would say more than one prison employee would have to be in on it, and it could be done more easily if someone up high was in on it, someone with the authority to alter records, and stuff.

Some people giving answers seem to be inferring that it would be one guard carrying out the whole thing on their own.

It makes it easier to kill someone in prison and get away with it I think, since society basically has the attitude that, if a criminal meets a tragic fate while serving out their sentence, oh well, they probably deserved it. There wont be much outcry to look into it, unless maybe if you can get the liberal media machine started up.

But by the time anything is done, evidence can be destroyed, altered, fabricated... A prison is like an enclosed city. The mayor or governer or POTUS probably cant even get in without the proper procedures. So, they control what goes in amd out for the most part, including information.

We need some serious prison reform. We are making our society worse with this current system. We should be focused more on rehabilitation and we need some corporal punishment for people who start fights and form prison gangs. They let the gangs run the prison, run the streets...its pathetic.

Cell phones are not allowed either but they have them along with heroin, marijuana, meth, and just about anything you want. Need internet service for your phone, prisoners have managed to find the right place to tap into the cables which provided service to the admin office. Prisoners just recently got busted, for running a nude selfie scam. They convinced people to send them nude selfies, then blackmailed them for cash put on their accounts.

Just like the rest of the population, guards are capable of not only murder but have been known to fall in love and help prisoners to escape. They are people too, and can be bribed, extorted, and outsmarted. They certainly are capable of suiciding someone, medications, suffocation, a variety of ways. As for surveillance, there are blind spots in every system, and prisoners and guards have little to do but find the holes in the system.

I worked in a jail once. There were suicide watch cells positioned in front of the cell block control rooms so you could see into them from the control room. When someone is put in the suicide watch cell, all they have is a mattress and an anti-suicide smock, which is basically a robe thing that can't be ripped apart and used to hang yourself. The cells in this block had a sort of plastic material over the front of the cells so that inmates couldn't reach out and/or throw things, but there was an opening at the bottom of the cell doors big enough to throw things underneath and "fish" back and forth around the cell block. This is basically when one inmate attaches something to some sort of rope or string and flings it as far towards another cell as he can, and then an inmate in another cell uses something else attached to a string to "fish" the item to themselves. For whatever reason the other officers were completely fine with sitting there and watching this go on all day long, until one day, the inmates took turns passing clothing down the line to the suicide cell just so the guy in the suicide cell (with very obvious mental health issues) could try to hang himself. I imagine the other inmates did it just to be malicious and see if the guy actually managed to kill himself before we noticed.

The guards don't have to get their hands dirty.
They can just leave someone conveniently unguarded and slip the right guy a favor.

What you are really asking is....are we ready to go after the INSIDE MEN now....not quite yet but ...soon....remember when one falls all will fall....at this point in time I estimate that 90% of Prisons and Holding Centers now have this exact murderous history to one degree or another....each one that is remediated will completely fall to pieces on an administrative level so we MUST BE READY AND PREPARED TO IMMEDIATLY REBUILD these structures....in short we cannot rip one down until we are ready to immediately replace it insitu…..and once this process begins there will be a cascade effect...soooooo….there is a TREMENDOUS VOLUME of hard work to be done yet to prepare for this impactfull phase of repatriating America on behalf of her Citizenry and the world at large.

I estimate hundreds of thousands have been murdered with some form of internal compliance.

One day in the near future we will have an accurate number.

There is no impactfull overwatch and no remedial punishments for dereliction of duty.....all prisons should be run by the military and there should be a strict Civilian/Military influence remediating any type of dereliction with legal force and jail terms...something oly the Military can make happen....if we keep Prisons under Civillian Jurisdiction we will NEVER STOP PRISONS FOR PROFIT nor will we ever stop the crimes and murders and influences which breed within these environments....
