According to Lujan (1997), the Air Force was added to the original language in 1956. Although the Navy and Marine Corps are not included in the act, they were made subject to it by DoD Regulation (32 C.F.R. Section 213.2, 1992).

This argument is so useless. For one it’s a straw man for another if the military is there will they prevent these people from applying fo asylum? No, they won’t, actually they will help them get into the country faster by helping them fill out documentation.

The act does not apply to the Army National Guard or the Air National Guard under state authority from acting in a law enforcement capacity within its home state or in an adjacent state if invited by that state's governor. The United States Coast Guard, which operates under the Department of Homeland Security, is not covered by the Posse Comitatus Act either, primarily because although the Coast Guard is an armed service, it also has both a maritime law enforcement mission and a federal regulatory agency mission.

So the military will not be enforcing the law, but instead be working in support of those enforcing the law.

Yeah, that’s all they can legally do. That’s the point, it’s a political stunt because their presence is in no way required.

Yet the border patrol requested the extra bodies, so they must think having the troops there to help rebuild the infrastructure is a good thing.

No one on the left wants completely open borders where anyone can walk through, that isn’t a real thing. On the other hand, Trump described himself as a nationalist, so I think it’s only right we define his party how he wants.
